We checked in late like around 9:30 pm because we took too long in Disneyland. The first receptionist took more than half hour to find us a room. She initially tried to push us to take the two rooms that had construction outside. She was reluctant to reveal the noisy condition of those two rooms. When we declined to take those rooms, she made us wait for a long time. By the time she finally found us a room, we were beyond exhausted. When we went up to the room, we discovered it’s a room with one king size bed (the receptionist didn’t inform us at all). The whole family of 4 had to go down together to ask for an explanation. The original receptionist was not available so we got another staff called Evelyn to help us. She demonstrated no customer service at all. She right away questioned us if we booked our room through Expedia and her attitude was rude and discourteous. When I asked for her supervisor (since none of the staff we got were trying to help us), she raised her voice and yelled across other customers and told us to be patient. Her supervisor Bini witnessed her staff’s behavior but did nothing about it and at the end still gave us the same room. It’s unfortunate that we check in too late so we got the leftover choices but a better customer service could have offered an explanation and made reasonable recommendations instead of making us wait and yelling at us.

We will not recommend this hotel to anyone for 2 reasons:

a) Horrible customer service as described above. If you are a business traveller, I would recommend considering stay at with Hyatt or Sheraton, which are located right next to the Anaheim Convention Center.

b) Very far walk from Disneyland compared to other hotels. It’s more than a mile and takes 25-30 min from door to door. If you plan to go back to the hotel for your little ones to nap, definitely don’t stay here because you will feel the distance when you make multiple trips. We recommend any hotels located north of W Katella Ave or the north east corner of W Katella Ave and Harbour Blvd (i.e. Wyndham Garden Anaheim—only 13 minute walk to the park). There are some nice eating places with CVS and 7-even across the street, very convenient and we saw a lot of family travellers in that area. Or consider staying at Best Western which is really close to the park, about 6 minute walk. We will look into staying with Best Western next time, their review is so high.

We will definitely return to Disneyland but will NEVER go back to this hotel.

Do not stay if you are visiting Disneyland with your kids. They had a convention at the time of our trip. The lobby was full of drunks, and that scared the kids to the point of having to get another hotel. Trying the check out, the manager would not reimburse our money, we checked into the hotel for a total of 3 hours. Shame on Marriott for taking this stance, they should warn people with kids if there is an event like that going on. Will never stay at a Marriott property again based on this!

Hotel lobby remodeled recently as well as Starbucks and Food Court. Nice convention facilities. Rooms are small but okay. Really loved the elevators where you put in your number and it programs each individual elevator floor for you. Staff was friendly despite lots of people. Really liked that this hotel seems to limit the amount of "Disneyland" conventions unlike the Hilton. This seems like a business hotel while the Hilton next door allows in every teenager magazine sales convention they can find to come. This means Marriott is quite for its size so I slept well. My biggest suggestion is better food and friendlier staff in the concierge. Liked late check out for Platinum Elite.

Great stay, except I was not allowed for a late check-out? I was only asking for an hour, due to a meeting that I will not end til 4PM. I attended a business conference for 4 days. Food at the market is good.

Dear roelam,

Thank you for your recent stay at our hotel. We appreciate you taking the time to write a review. Although we are pleased you experienced an overall great stay, we sympathize with the frustration you felt from us not being able to grant you a late checkout due to our high occupancy with many large conventions in town. This inconvenience in no way excuses the fact we failed to grant your request. We want to extend our sincere apologies for disappointing you. We hope you will give us another opportunity to provide you with a flawless stay; we wish you all the best with your travels.

Thank you,

I am a regular at Marriott properties, and once or twice a year I stay at one of the convention hotels. This location is adjacent to the Anaheim Convention Center and I stayed 6 nights for a convention. The location was great ... adjacent to the convention center and across the street from Disneyland. The couple blocks near the hotel offered several dining choices from fast food to fine steak houses. The check-in was pleasant although I learned that my status had slipped from Platinum to Gold just a couple weeks prior so I could not access the concierge lounge which was a disappointment. The room was good size, had a large screen television, ample work area for both me an my colleague that allowed us both to keep our computers busy. The only negative was the lack of towel rack in the bathroom which seemed strange. The house staff kept the room tidy and clean each day. For a convention hotel, the price was not out of line -- and cheaper than the rack rate.

Room tip: If you want to see the Disneyland fireworks, ask for a room on the north side.
