“Below expectations”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2012

This hotel is very average. We stayed on the club level so I would have thought the rooms would be the best in the hotel; they were well below my expectation! The room was small - we are a family of 4 and I ordered a room with two beds. The beds were tiny (double), the bathroom was tiny, and everything was very dated. I had a dreadful sleep each night we were there as he air conditioning made a terrible whining noise and the walls are paper thin and even though we were a few rooms away from the elevator you could still hear these. The pool was very small and over crowded. The club level breakfast was ok but nothing outstanding and the services they offered were minimal so probably wouldn't bother booking the club level. There were two good things about this hotel - we had a great view of the Disney fireworks and we were able to walk to the Disney parks each day which was around 10-15 minutes.
It seems to me that there aren't many good hotels around Disneyland. If I was to go back I"d book the Hilton which is in front of the Mariott and looks new.

Room Tip: Book the hilton

This is the first time we have stayed off of the Disneyland property. The cost was much less than one of the Disneyland properties, but we were concerned about travel back and forth to the park. My son stayed at the Marriot and suggested a taxi. This was a wonderful option. We could save by staying off-property and the taxi was only $10 each way. Picked up at the door of the hotel and dropped off right outside Disneyland. Taxis were always available at the hotel and at the Park at closing. The room was clean and very nice and we had a nice view of the city. The pool is not great--only 3.5 feet maximum depth--but that is not why we were there. If you're not interested in paying $300+ for a Disneyland hotel, check out this option.

I thought that this hotel..being
within Disney travel hotels and all would be friendly and prompt service! We show up at about 10 pm my sister and i with 2 kids 2 and 6.. The bellboys are apparently inside so you have to drag your luggage from the shuttle area into the lobby. She checks in while im trying to find a bellboy as we need a cart..being late and all we are trying to get the kids to bed. After standing there 10 minutes...finally find the bellboy. We get to the room and find out neither the crib or microwave are not there wich we requested 2 weeks prior as well as hours before we arrived. We call them and let them know..meanwhile 2 yr old is having a meltdown wanting to sleep. They show up over 30 minutes later..at this point baby is passed out so we tell them forget it leave it by the door. The only pleasant service thus far was the promptness when in the lounge ordering a much needed pina coloda after the first day! lol 2nd day they charged the kids meals to the room which are suppose to be free with an adult meal. The pool was nice..but all the outlets near by were not working..so to charge my cell i had to run back into the lobby. All these inconviences with children are not fun. Being Disney friendly they need to be more attentive and prompt for families as well as their business guests! The day of checkout we called for a bellboy to bring a cart to load our stuff..no answer. called again..was put on hold forever..hung up. Called again finally an answer. Bellboy came right away ( Ray) and was super friendly. We waited in the lobby for our shuttle to the airport. It was running late..so i went to the ' disney ' desks to see whats goin on. When i asked about our reservation for the disney express the lady replied with a " oh i dont handle that..you will need to see one of them " as she points to another lady whom is on the
phone and does not even offer to or try and get someones attention. We are stressing we wont make our flight. Friendly hawaiian bellboy Ray offers to call as we see a shuttle that is maybe ours. The shuttle drives through as we are walking out the doors...Ray chases the shuttle down and it turns
around. wheww! He went the extra mile for us and was the most pleasant experience during the whole trip. I had told Ray earlier about our first impression and how no one helped out at all the first night. He sincerely apoligized for the hotel. Overall the experience was horrible ( aside from Ray and lounge service) i travel alot for business and vacation and this has been the worst service. For the costly rate..their service should be well beyond expectations. If you are planning a disney vacation with kids i would reccomend a more family friendly hotel. Marriot caters more to corporate business poeple it seems and when there are conferences goin on...goodluck gettin coffee in the morning at starbucks! i normally dont post reviews but this was a must.

I stayed here with family during a quick Disneyland trip. Location is pretty decent, but it's definitely not what one would expect given the cost. They nickel and dime you to death for amenities lower tier hotels provide for free.

The location can’t be beat. It is walking distance to Disneyland, Downtown Disney and Anaheim Garden Walk. The Convention Center is just outside the hotel entrance.

Shopping and dozens of restaurants are within walking distance as well as a couple of dining options on site.

Nice sized rooms. Good linens. Comfortable beds and pillows.

Hotel and rooms are nicely decorated. The ocean pictures in the rooms were a nice touch. Everything was really clean.

The staff is all super friendly and helpful. Hotels grounds are pretty and well maintained.

There was construction outside hotel entrance but we could not hear it in the room.

The $24 parking is a little steep but that seems to be the norm in the area.

Upon arrival there were a number of employees in the lobby chit chatting. Check in was indifferent, no info provided about hotel or available amenities. I booked the club room floor, if you enjoy drab surroundings and old cookies you'll be fine. I thought it a waste of money. Staff not overly warm, enthusiastic or engaging. They did seem to enjoy talking amongst themselves in the lobby, just not to guests.

Stayed here during a convention. Food at catered events was very good. Room service also good. Lots of construction outside and I did hear jack hammers every morning, including Saturday, at 7 am. No alarm clocks necessary. Pretty comfortable king bed, bathrooms very small and the shower heads squeaks continuously. Sounds like a mouse is trapped inside, and I needed to keep bathroom door closed all the time to block it out. Desk area small and cramped, and insufficient plugs near the desk. Charge for internet. Got an email from Elite Services asking for my requests before check in and never received any of my requests. Staff friendly. Short taxi to the parks, pool small so no laps, just dunking.
