“Great hotel, highly recommended!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2009

This is a great hotel, we stayed for 7 nights and have nothing but praise.

It is a less than 5 minute walk to Disneyland and California Adventure, 2 minutes to a Denny's that is (shock horror) actually very good, a McDonald's out the front for a quick meal, and has a Cheesecake Factory a little bit further on.

We stayed here in 1996 and it is still just as good. The hotel is a little older, but they have kept the hotel in a very good condition with clean rooms and new beds. There is an ice machine and coin op laundry on every floor, and a Pizza Hut on Level 3.

It was a great base to see LA, the theme parks and go to Outlet Shopping, I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone!

The room was excellent. The bed was very comfortable (not too hard and not too soft) and the beds are covered with sheets, not bedspreads. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. I felt OK letting the teenagers walk back to the hotel from Disneyland because it's right across the street from the park (by myself, I timed my walk at less than 15 minutes from the far end of Main Street to the hotel lobby). But if you are traveling with grandparents, it might be wiser to find a hotel south or north of the park that is served by ART or another shuttle service that takes you into the park's transportation area. Even thought it's right across the street, it's a long walk to the ticket booths and wheelchair rental area for those who have trouble getting around. Two restaurants next door, Mimi's and Millie's, had great food at reasonable cost.

We stayed one night here since we flew in for my friend's birthday. Total was about $114 including taxes through the Marriott website since I booked a couple of months in advance. The location was very good since we could easily walk to Disneyland's entrance. There were a few hotels that were closer, but from all my research, Marriott seemed like a better deal since was reliably clean. I've had a more comfy beds at the Doubletree, but this bed was serviceable. The location was the best! We could come back in the middle of the day at the parks to rest. I recommend this hotel!

We've stayed at some dives on Harbor. The Fairfield was a welcome change. Very clean, quiet, lots of storage. Good service and amenities. Laundry rooms, fruit water in the lobby, tot play area in the lobby, coffee and pizza on 3rd floor as well as a small game room. Beds are firm. We did have tepid water two of three mornings. Guess we didn't get up with the first-come Disney crew and had to pay the price.

Pool is a bit small, but towels are plentiful. Hot tub equally small. Also, no microwave in the room, although there is one on the third floor. (There are good size refrigerators. We brought our own toaster oven.) The walk is a bit far, but for a clean room it was worth it.

We'll definitely stay here again because it's clean and friendly. If you go, ask for park view.

This is the second time we stayed at the Fairfield. The best feature is the close proximity to Disneyland. The room was ok, but it smelled of mold like it hadn't been used in while. The beds were super comfortable. Don't stay on the ground floor close to the pool if you are looking for a quiet stay, our last visit put us right by the pool and although we didn't spend a lot of time in the room the kids using the pool were really loud. I would recommend this place if you have children and don't want a long walk to the park. We got a good price online for the 3 days we were there. Overall a good choice.

Stayed 11-17 September. Arrived in US from overnight 13 hour trip 0900 am. On upon arrival at resort 1030am were told in no uncertain terms by smug young male at front desk that check in was 4 pm and there would be no early check in. No welcome greeting and I had the feeling he thought he was better than us. Anyway we left our bags finally with the bellman after 3 requests and wandered off to disneyland on next to no sleep. After 3 hours we were exhausted so I thought I would go back and give check in another go. This time I was greeted by a much nicer filipino lady sry forgot name and asked if we could check in and she said yes in a much nicer way. Room was very clean and just basically 2 beds and a bathroom with view of mcdonalds and some of disneyland from a distance. It was all we needed from a room and was located within walking distance of the park and all food places. Next time though I would stay at the disneyland pier with access to downtown disney and all the atmosphere, somehow I thought we were missing out staying off park. We loved going down town during night. Upon checkout we were never asked how our stay was. With so many choices I probably wouldnt return just on service alone but stay was a no frills ok.

Great location and free internet!. Everything else was descent with this hotel. Had terrible experience with unfriendly (rude is perhaps the proper description) staff at the Pizza Hut express located on the 3rd floor of the hotel.
