“Bad start but smooth finish - Very happy with results”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

I was really worried that this was not going to be a good trip. I had booked my trip with a certificate through work and when I called the reservation number they told me that my reservation was not booked correctly and they were no longer accepting certificates. The reservation supervisor was actually very rude and abrasive. I was shocked at her attitude esp. since it was their mess up. I thought I was going to have to cancel the trip and break my neice and son's hearts so I decided to call the hotel directly. I spoke to the general manager and her assistant and they took wonderful care of us! The allowed us to book with our certificate and were very apologetic for the behavior of the marriott reservations agent. Upon arrival everyone was so friendly. The room was VERY clean and comfortable. They do not offer breakfast but they have a pizza hut on the 3rd floor that has very resonable options. The food was great too. We had breakfast and dinner there and were very pleased. The Pizza was fabulous! We used the pool and spa and were very happy with the cleanliness and facilities. The location is great and not too far to walk. It is on the northern side of the hotels directly across the street but not a bad walk at all. It takes about 10 minutes to get to the gates of the park. There is a Mc Donalds right on the way back to the hotel for a quick bite and a Millies right infront of the hotel. We did room service from Millies and were pretty happy with it. We ate at mimis a couple times and were very happy it was there. The hotel charges 11 a day for parking and that is pretty normal for the area. It is the same rate for valet or self park so we just used valet and actually never touched the car the whole trip. It was a girls trip (other than my son) and we never felt unsafe. Oh and the maid was so sweet. She noticed we had little ones and she left us a couple rubber duckies for them. Overall the staff and hotel exceeded our expectations esp after the rocky start. We will come back. Thanks to everyone at the hotel as they made our trip one of the best Disneyland trips yet!

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor facing the pool and had no complaints.

Thank you for the review!

I’m very happy that our General Manager and Assistant General Manager were able to assist you after the unprofessional reservations agent. Unfortunately those agents are in centers around US and Canada and not on property.

Our Assistant General Manager was also very excited you mentioned the rubber duckies.

Loved it. We had stayed here 14 years ago and remembered the location to Disney Land as being just perfect. Returned with our family of 3 children and found the motel better than we remembered. Everything was so nice and clean and family friendly. The room was really good for 5 and the location i s unbeatable. We could go over to the parks and come back for a swim to re-charge the batteries and then return again. It was always nice walking out of the parks and seing people lining up for a shuttle of just missing one and walking straight by to our room across the road.

We would return here any time we are back and would recommend it to anyone. Plent of options for meals near by and also in Downtown Disney. Staff were very friendly and seemed vey happy to be working there.

Only minor problem we had was a cold wind blew in under the air conditioner and we had to block it with a suitcase to keep it out. Asides from thjis there is nothing at all to complain about.

Room Tip: It is nice to get a room overlooking Disney Land.

I was really pleased that we had chosen to stay at this hotel on our first trip to Disneyland.Really convenient spot just across the road from Disneyland. Location made it easy to walk back and forwards to parks during the day or night. Beds were amazingly comfortable and rooms were clean and well equipped. Top floor verandahs are a great spot to watch fireworks at night.

Thank you so much for the review!

We have lots of spots to view the fireworks from. You should come back during summer if you can, Disneyland has a different fireworks show then!

Stayed with my husband and two daughters aged 8 & 12. The hotel is in a great location close to Disneyland (about a 5-10 minute walk to the gates) and eating places. One tip is don't eat at Millie's walk another 10 meters to Mimi's the food is much nicer and very reasonably priced. The rooms are very clean and are a good size. The fridge in the room is also handy and the laundry facilities make life easy. We will definitely stay here again!

Thank you so much for the high review!

We are a family oriented hotel (hard not be when you’re right across from Disneyland!) so we love having families stay and it’s our goal to “WOW” and delight our guests, which I’m very glad we were able to do for you.

We look forward to you’re next stay with us!

This Motel is walking distant to Disneyland. The motel was very clean. We had breakfast at the 3rd floor pizza hut and it was delicious. When we arrived at the motel we was greeted by a Valet person so took care of our car and we signed into the motel. I would stay here again!!

Room Tip: The south side is quiet but I would of liked to be on the opposite side so you can see the disneylan...

Thank you for the hotel review!

We appreciate the positive comments about the property. We’ve had the Valet staff for just over a year now and that has really enhanced peoples first impressions of the hotel.

Hopefully we’ll see you in the Disneyland area soon! Winter at the parks is really beautiful.

We just returned from a trip to California and when in Anaheim, we stayed at the Fairfield Inn. While I read just about every review written this year, I was still a little worried about trying out a resort that we had not stayed in before. We arrived on Nov. 4 at about 4:00 pm and were greeted at the door by the valet who was friendly and accommodating. We were assisted at the front desk by Victoria who was cheerful, professional and seemed to truly enjoy her job. Because I had booked 2 rooms, she made sure they were adjoining as I had requested. Although one of the rooms was not ready, she asked for my cell phone number and would text me as soon as it had been inspected by Housekeeping. She said it would be about 30 minutes, but to our pleasant surprise, the Housekeeping supervisor was there when we got up to the room, so it was but a 5 minute wait. Victoria also advised us that the fireworks show was not going on since they getting ready for Christmas festivities at Disneyland, but told us where to go to see them on Friday. She was an awesome example of stellar customer service! We had rooms 250 and 251 and they were clean, neat and better than I had expected based on others' reviews. They were roomy and seemed to have been recently renovated. We were there a total of 7 nights and 8 days and I was very happy with the choice to stay there. On check out day, I requested a late check out. Jennifer B. at the front desk advised me that late check out is at 1:00 pm and that there is a $35 fee to go beyond that. She asked me to wait and she would check to see if they could accommodate my request to stay later than 1:00 pm. In no time flat she came back and said that she could extend one room to 2:00 pm and that it would be at no charge. We were so happy with this courtesy as our car wasn't due to pick us up until 2:30 pm. Again like Victoria, Jennifer B. was courteous, cheerful and willing to go the extra mile for us.

I would most definitely not only recommend this property to others, but would stay here again without a doubt! It is a little farther walk than the property we normally stay at, but SO much more worth the money!! Thank you for making our stay an enjoyable one and we hope to see you again real soon.

Room Tip: Rooms running parallel to South Harbor facing Disneyland offer the best views of the fireworks. Room...

Thank you for the positive comments and review!

I’m so glad we were able to make you stay enjoyable and Victoria and Jennifer were able to impress you. Victoria is wonderful, recent edition to our staff and Jennifer is a veteran of our front desk and just an all-around rock star. They both love to take their time with guests and make sure people are treated as individuals and make sure their stay is memorable.

Our rooms were recently renovated (completed beginning of 2011) so all of the beds, paint, carpet, etc, etc are all relatively new. Housekeeping and Engineering do a great job of maintaining the rooms and making them look brand new.

We hope to see you again next time you make it to the mainland!

3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

This hotel is so close to Disneyland that it makes it an ideal location to stay with family. It is approximately 300 meters from the hotel to the Disneyland entrance. This hotel is very basic in its facilities and relies upon its patrons spending minimal time within the hotel grounds, as most customers are spending 12 hours per day at the theme parks instead. The rooms are spacious and very clean. There is a heated pool on site which is nothing fancy but gives people the opportunity to cool off at the end of a long day. There are no gym or spa facilities in this hotel as it is a basic hotel. There are laundry facilities at the end of each floor and a convenience store and pizza hut express are available within the hotel as well. The staff are extremely varied, ranging from highly competent and friendly to absolutely useless. Many times we sought clarification on issues we had and we received very mixed messages. We had a mix-up with our hotel reservations and were treated with such abysmal service and the night manager of the hotel was rude and patronizing. The high speed wifi in our rooms was a joke. It could only be called high speed if you were comparing it to dial up Internet used in the early 90's. This is of a major concern to people like us who unfortunately needed Internet access to run our small family business whilst on holidays. This needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency, along with the upskilling of staff in customer relations. Other than those areas of concern, it was a reasonable place to stay because of its close proximity to Disneyland.

Room Tip: Ask for the room that allows you to see the fireworks display on weekends.

Thank you for the review!

We are a select service hotel, so we don’t have all the same amenities that a full service hotel would, but we make sure our product is worth it.

I do apologize for any mixed messages and rude staff you encountered. I’ll make sure that the Front Office Manager and Director of Food and Beverage see this as training for their staffs to try and address any miscommunication or misunderstandings they have.

As for our internet, that is something we are looking into very seriously. The building is a concrete building from the late 1980s so signal strength is really tricky to get to certain parts of the building. Our Chief Engineer and General Manager are working on solutions to speed up the connections, increase bandwidth, as well as get stronger signal strength to rooms and public areas.
