My husband and I stayed at Ayres Inn for our 10 year Anniversary. We are local to San Diego but did not want to go far. Alpine was the prefect place to escape to. When we arrived we were welcomed with a warm greeting , freshly baked cookies and milk. My husbands favorite! Our room was really clean and recently remodeled. It over looked the beautiful courtyard and pond. The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed the flat screen TV in the room. They even left a note in the room saying "Happy Anniversary". It really made us feel welcome. While we were there we took the shuttle to the casino. It was convenient since neither of us felt like driving on this special occasion. I am usually picky about breakfast foods but they had a big variety to choose from making it easy for me to find something for breakfast. We enjoyed the rest of our stay poolside. It was so relaxing that we did not want to leave! All of the staff at Ayres Inn were friendly and informative. We will defiantly be back for our 11th Anniversary :) We love Ayres Inn Alpine.

We were headed to see a show at the Viejas Casino and decided to stay at the Ayres because we have stayed in some of their other SoCal locations. We were not disappointed. When we checked in last eveing, there was warm coffee and cookies in the lobby. In fact, the entire lobby area has a wood cabin feel to it. Cozy leather sofa, wood carved Indian, rustic furniture, fireplace, etc...

Typical old school motel set-up in that you can park close to your room. Room #239 was very nice. Leather sofa, king size bed, coffee pot and refrigerator, clean bathroom. Comfortable bed with nice pillows.

We skipped the breakfast but there was cereal, fresh fruit, hardboiled eggs, muffins, toast, coffee and juice.

Staff was VERY NICE. I would stay again!

I chose Ayres Inn because it was near my son-in-law's family, where we planned on spending Christmas day. We were delighted with our stay. Christmas decorations on the mantel and throughout the lobby, a lovely decorated tree with presents, and a cat curled up by the burning fireplace, were just a few of the welcoming items. We were checked in by a smiling young woman, who welcomed us, told us about breakfast the next morning, and said cookies and hot cocoa would be served in the evening. When we returned from dinner we partook of both.

Our rooms faced a garden with a small waterfall and stream, wild pumpkins were growing along the embankment that was covered with grass and ivy and although we were near the freeway it was very quiet.

A couple of the reviews I had read mentioned that the furniture and fixtures needed updating. Perhaps they do. However, we found the entire staff to be efficient and friendly, the rooms clean and pleasant, Ayres Inn is very close to the outlet mall and casino, and we had a delightful stay.

We decided to stay in Alpine as a getaway as our house was being tented for a couple days, great staff, nice pool, small but nice fitness room. We loved the Koi pond and water in the courtyard. Great place. Would go back and visit again if the occasion pops up.
