The appetizers are amazing! Tuesday is empanadas for $1.50. Ceviche very good and if you have room, the main dishes are wonderful! A true find

We've had food here several times over the last few years. Everything has always been excellent and service friendly. The lunch specials ($7 or $8 including soup/salad) are fabulous. Their homemade soup (chicken, rice, and cilantro) is great and we always get it. Very nice restaurant with lovely wall murals. Definitely recommend.

We visited Inka Mama’s for the first time this evening and were very pleasantly surprised. We had seen it from the outside several times but never ventured in. We’re so glad we did! It was the first time all of us in our party tried Peruvian food. The influences of Spanish, Italian, and Chinese flavors were unexpected but delicious. The menu had something for everyone -- seafood, beef, chicken, and vegetarian entrees. Our new favorite sauce is aji -- a spicy, but refreshing accompaniment to everything served, including bread. The atmosphere once we were inside was a lot more inviting and warm than it had appeared from the outside. Service (Mark) was great. Portions were very generous. All of us left with a to go box of leftovers. Looking forward to trying the lunch menu.

This is for the same name (family owned) in Calle Suerte in San Clemente. The first time we went there everything tasted just right and even the prices in relation to the food were good. Nice people attending, that first time the experience was good enough to want to rate this place high. 3 days after we returned during Happy Hour (5 to 7PM) and the whole thing had changed rapidly for the worst. Service took a bad turn and never resembled that of the first time we visited. The food as well suffered. Either by the small, way too small in my opinion, servings (3 bite size deep fried pieces of chicken $7-incredible!) and the whole array of plates with the notable exception of the Empanadas, which tasted good, had lost quite a bit. Which basically told us that from one day to the other the place took a tumble downwards and that is sad for there is no way we are going to return anytime soon. We had Ceviche, Mussels with onion sauce on top served on the half shell, empanadas, aguadito de pollo (soup with chicken and cilantro-this version a gooey mess with absolutely no redeeming qualities), chicharron de pollo (the deep fried chicken which came with 3 bite size pieces and onion salad-this one was a joke on how small and expensive it was), and a causa (peruvian pureed potatoes with shrimp, which were tiny-acceptable but not spectacular. Pop went the Weasel! Bubble burst and acid indigestion and below par quality and value sealed the deal for us. Nice work on the part of Kyle (bass boy but forced to act as a waiter, attentive and eager to please, perhaps the best part of the experience) and in the end we walked away regretting having returned. Consistency is absolutely necessary to assure the same quality and value, but when from one day to the other the whole thing collapses, I frankly, rather be somewhere else than to get caught in the place. Noticed there was traffic and very little assistance. Our original waiter had a chip on her shoulder and decide to ignore our table making Kyle promote himself and serve our table. This time it was way below what happened last time. 2 Stars for this visit. 4 Stars for last. Average 3 Stars at best and that is a shame for I wanted (we) to like it. No dice.

Finally there is a family restaurant at the Talega area that hopefully will be here to stay! I have been to Inka Mama's twice and so far, the service has always been great, the food is excellent, the flavors amazing, and they probably have one of the best kid's menus out there! Love the idea of going to an ethnic restaurant and still be able to give my kids something that they feel comfortable eating! My kids (6yr &7yr) love the rice and beans and the chicken tenders! and there are more options for them, even pasta. I tried the lamb and it was so good, we also tried the seafood rice and it was amazing! The alfajores are so perfect you want to eat 100 of them...overall, a great place to go with the family! Portions are good, I always have some leftovers for the next day. Prices are very reasonable, specially when you consider how much you are getting. The bar is limited to vine, beers and sangria, I was hoping for a Pisco Sour, however, having said that, when I go there I go for the food, not the drinks! I couldn't find the San Clemente location on tripadvisor so, I decided to leave the review here until the SC location gets its own reviews space!!!
