We were excited to try this place. Everyone was friendly. We sat down the same time another 4 top did. It is a small place, the tables were pretty full and the bar seating was a bit empty. We received our edamame pretty soon. When we ordered, we asked if it was possible to have no mayo--my husband has a huge aversion to it. It could have been a misunderstanding, but our first roll was perfect and the other four were loaded with mayo. We received the first roll about 35 minutes after ordering. Then about 20 minutes later, the table next to us complained about the length of time their order was taking. Within 30 seconds, all of their food was brought out and the rest of our mayo rolls. We asked about the mayo when we saw the server again, but by that time, we were a bit frustrated and wanted to go. The server apologized but that was it. Luckily it wasn't too expensive, but I don't think my husband will return. Stinks because I was so excited to try it. It would be one thing if it was just our table, but it was clear there was something else going on with other tables complaining.

Visiting from the East Coast and was taken to this Sushi restaurant in a shopping plaza next to a gas station. My expectations were low, but boy did this place shine. First, ownership here is authentic Japanese. In the U.S., most Sushi places are Korean or Chinese operated. Bistro Anju is traditional Japanese. Sushi quality was superb. Highly recommend ordering the "omakase" (Japanese testing menu) that allows owner Chef to unleash his creativity including a couple of Japanese French fusion dishes. If I lived here I'd be a neighborhood regular. I loved this place.

Have been going to Bistro Anju for several times at its orlder location and its current new location. It has great, authentic sushi. Very fresh, more of a contemporary style versus traditional Edomae style but very nice. This sushi can compete with the best from Japan. Chef is also a French style cook and you get very nice lamb chops and foie gras apetizers. Have always been very happy with the quality of the sushi and food. Highly recommended.

Sushi was fresh and a wonderful surprise. In a small plaza but hip decor inside. Sushi pieces on small side but everything very tasty. Service was friendly. We will return and hope they continue to add creative options as the chef obviously knows what he is doing.
