“Romantic getaway in the fog.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2014

Wow what a beautiful setting. The Inn has a lot of historical significance and puts you back in time. We stayed in the tower room and brought our dogs. Dog bowls, treats and baggies for them, plush robes and a bottle of husch wine in the fridge for us. Walked the grounds with the dogs and visited the goat and ducks, socialized with the owners and played a mean game of scrabble in front of our fireplace that was ready made for us. Breakfasts were amazing and over the top. Will definitely be back.

We recently stayed at Fensalden in the Bungalow. We were very pleased to see, that even though it was very rustic, was secluded and nice and quiet. The bungalow actually has all the comforts of home, minus the t.v. and phone. Additionally, it has beautiful views of the ocean, as well as some domesticated animals, and deer that come right up to the main house in the morning to feed. The breakfast prepared by the owner Chris, and his brother-in-law, were exceptional. Chris made us feel right at home, and Molly, his wife, made sure we had all the necessities that were needed. We'll definitely go back.

Room Tip: The bungalow is great for a family because of the additional beds, and it's separated from the m...

This B&B is a bit off from all the noises, including from HWY1. It makes it a bit difficult to find, especially in the dark, but, on the other hand, it is very secluded and quiet.
We stayed in Mariner room on the second floor. It didn't have the real TV, but it had this expansive view to the ocean instead. Well, if you really miss your TV the Inn has free WiFi for that. The Inn has lots of actives to do at night - games for kids and sherry for adults, many books, some rather old. However, you are pretty much on your own after 4PM. So it isn't resort with an entertainer on staff.
The breakfast part of the B&B part was prepared by the hosts. It was great. You can see some on the photos I added. Nothing spectacular or over-filling, but very delicious.

My husband and I found the place on Groupon and decided to go here for a couple night for our honeymoon. It was amazing! We stayed in the tower room, which had a sliding glass door with a porch right off of it. We could go out there in the morning and watch the dear. At night we were able to sit by the fire place. All the staff were extremely friendly! It was a great place!

Chris made us feel welcome, and most importantly was not too intrusive. Breakfasts were fabulous and we still talk about them months later. The property is pretty rustic, not too fancy but nice. Though we were not on the ocean, it was a nice base to explore the Mendocino area.

We got to meet and dine with Chris' family, who were wonderful people. All in all a great B&B experience.

Enjoyed a 3 day stay at the Fensalden Inn at the end of Sept. 2013.
Chris, the owner and innkeeper could not have been more accommodating.
The Inn was comfortable and beautifully appointed. Numerous extras such as the complimentary bottle of wine and the snacks available at all times made the stay even more special. The view of the Pacific and the sunsets from the Mariner Room is breathtaking. The breakfasts were fantastic, wholesome, better than fine restaurant quality.
The Inn itself with the history and the extensive grounds and walking paths rounded out the visit to make our stay a near perfect one.
And, thank you Molli for booking us a dinner reservation at the Albion River Inn. We had the best table in the house with an awesome view and fantatstic dinner.

Room Tip: Awesome views from the Mariner Room Ask Molli to book dinner reservations. She must have local con...

This gorgeous Inn is a piece of HEAVEN here on earth! Chris and Molli and Bobby and the entire family were the best hosts ever!
The rooms are spotless and cozy , the lil touches as in the chocolates and a bottle of wine chilled and waiting in the room was such a nice surprise. Breakfast every morning was delicious and kept us full until dinner. Molli packed us a picnic lunch filled with local yummies to take to the beach which was spectacular!
Uncle Bobbie played some amazing tunes at breakfast as well . They really make you feel welcomed and at home here and we can not thank them enough for making our anniversary weekend beautiful and memorable . We already are planning a trip back !! Thank you so much for everything!!!
