We visited at the end of June and had 3 breakfasts and two dinners at this lovely restaurant. We were staying at the Albion River Inn and the restaurant was just steps away from our Ocean Room. The view of the rugged coast from all windows is captivating and entertaining as you watch the avian life, coastal deer, and fisherman running their watercraft out through the Albion River cove to the ocean. Breakfasts were complimentary for guests only and the food and service were great. The menu items were varied to suit anyone's taste; juice and muffins and coffee were offered at seating. There was no charge to add extra bacon or toast to any dish. The special on two days was the baby bay shrimp omelet with cream cheese and chives. Wonderful! The bacon was outstanding, the tomato basil Benedict poached eggs were perfectly cooked. We cannot say enough good things about the breakfasts. The dinners were excellent. The service was impeccable at dinner. There was halibut offered at dinner and it was so fresh and so well seasoned. We actually had a cheeseburger for dinner on our last night and it was terrific! The prices are very reasonable for fine dining. We will definitely stay at the Albion River Inn and dine at the restaurant again. Thank you for a lovely long weekend!

View was great! Otherwise, food was not fantastic. The meatloaf was tasty enough, but the mushroom soup was just passable, as were the vegetables. Creamy pasta sauce was boring. The Albion area could definitely use a few more options. It was frustrating to have this be the only reasonably-close food choice.

The food is great. We have had five breakfasts and three dinners during two visits to the Inn, and everything has been excellent. The breakfasts we have had were very good- poached eggs cooked correctly, bacon done perfectly, well cooked potatoes, and good coffee and tea. For dinner, the seafood chowder has clams, mussels and shrimp, Yukon gold potatoes in a rich, light broth with a touch of dill and sherry. The warm kale and mushroom salad was terrific. The salmon and sea bass were perfectly cooked (slightly charred on the outside and barely cooked on the inside), extremely fresh tasting, and had delicious vegetables. They both matched well with an Anderson Valley Pinot Noir. The Chef's 3-Course Menu for $32.50 brought a salad with beets, walnuts and feta cheese, followed by a seafood pasta and sorbet or chocolate moose. The Mushroom Risotto was also excellent. The view from the dining room is beautiful and the service has always been informally perfect.

The food at this restaurant is excellent, fresh ingredients, cooked to perfection, and the right size portions. Kudos to the chef!. And the views are spectacular since the restaurant sits up on a bluff overlooking the ocean and rugged coast.

OK, I confess that my husband and I were looking for a "bargain" place to eat. We were sweaty and grubby from the day's activities, but decided to take a chance on the Albion River Inn restaurant. Despite our casual dress, we were warmly welcomed and given a table RIGHT BY THE WINDOW OVERLOOKING THE WATER. It was unbelievably beautiful! The server assured us that we could split an entree and a salad, so it became a very affordable meal with the most amazing atmosphere! The food was excellent and so was the service. It was our most memorable meal in our entire vacation in California. We thank the excellent server and chef for making our meal so wonderful. If we ever come back their way, we'll eat there again for a splurge!
