This is a family run operation since 1927. Great ice cream and sundaes and unusual favors like Macapuna , Zinfandel , salted Carmel make a must stop for visitors.
Tucker's is an authentic Alameda tradition, with their Tiger Tail and Macapuno ice creams and their "Tommy Tucker" cones. There's always plenty of seating (though you may have to look upstairs) and there's usually a line indicating how popular Tucker's really is.
Two of my three children chose Tuckers to make their wedding cakes. They both chose a small topper cake and cupcakes. Perfect. They were able to choose from several flavors of cupcakes. They were fresh, moist, and flavorful. The cakes were so good that one was enough.
Their ice cream is the best in Alameda. It is made locally and by the owner. He takes pride in the product that he makes. He has good reason to. They are delicious. The hardest part is choosing the flavors for your cone. Their cones cannot hold all the choices. That means you will need to come back another time to try other flavors.
Have been visiting Tucker's for years in Alameda. It is always the same, an awesome experience! Their chioces of flavors are second to none.. My wife and I always have our eyes out for the Ginger Ice Cream. It may sound a little weird but it is the best. If you happen by and they have it on the list, make sure.to try it.. The service is always fast and friendly too. Enjoy!
