“this is what a geriatric restaurant looks like”

This restaurant feels like the cafeteria at an old folks home. The food, surprisingly, is much more flavorful than the ambiance suggests, and the view is quite nice. I recommend the revioli.

“Love the Pasta Pelican!”
Reviewed July 6, 2012 via mobile

Our niece lives in Alameda and we eat at the Pasta Pelican every visit (we visit once a year). Seafood Ravioli is outstanding and love the margarita nights. We've always gotten a window table when dining ther and our niece is a regular there, too.

“Great View......”
Reviewed May 23, 2012

Dinner on Tuesday night with a Groupon for three course meal for two. Don't remember what I paid for it, but it was too much. Seat yourself because no hostess. No window seats so we sat at the bar to have a drink and wait. No bartender, servers make their own customers drinks. I wanted a Gray Goose Dirty Martini. Two empty bottles of Gray Goose sitting on the bar and after a 10 minute search, no full one. The waiter talks me in to some other Vodka I've never heard of and then charges 10.00 for the tiny martini! Husband's beer was cold, that's a plus.

Finally told that we can sit at a round table for 6 as it might be a while for a window seat, even though we had reservations and I specifically requested window seat. Asked what exactly our Groupon covered and was never answered. Ordered two appetizers. The Calamari was very good, Nice light batter and not greasy or overcooked. The asparagus was just plain weird. Slightly overcooked and just a little tough, then drowned in a sweet yellow curry flavored sauce. Yuck!! Served with peas and carrots for garnish?! Inedible Clam Chowder that literally tasted like dirt!
. My husband was served a wilted, brown lettuce salad and the waiter said, "Ranch" when delivered. The dressing was flavorless and my husband sent it back thinking it couldn't be the blue cheese he had ordered. The waiter came back, told him the kitchen said it WAS blue cheese but they would make him a new one anyway. Really? Why? Salad came back and still tasted like nothing. Duh, same salad!!

I had tortellini with prosciutto, peas and mushrooms. The pasta and light Alfredo sauce was good but the prosciutto was tough. My husband had veal scallopini. One tiny piece of veal and the sauce tasted like they had dumped the whole bottle of caper juice in it!! 18.00 on the menu!! The potatoes looked like mashed potatoes, but absolutely no flavor! Vegetables were cooked to mush and tasteless. The meal we had with one drink and two beers would have been 100.00 check! Feel like we paid too much and only paid 30.00 with Groupon and tip! I think the Groupon was 29.00, but bought a couple of months ago.

Nice view of the estuary, but skip this place, which is obviously on its last leg and go across the water to Jack London Square. Plenty of good restaurants there.

“Great service, view & vegetarian options”
Reviewed April 15, 2012

My wife & had dinner in the evening, during sunset. The service was outstanding by Gosia. We used a groupon, didn't drink alcohol, don't eat eggs & are vegetarian, & she was very helpful & supportive. We were provided bread, olive oil & balsamic vinegar. The brusheeta & portobello appetizers were very good, as was our modified dish of whole wheat penne with the spicy tequila sauce minus tequila with vegetables. The pizza of garlic & spinach was okay. The view of water & the marina is great - we were looking at Jack London Square.
