“Not the best club lounge for Sheraton hotel, cleanliness needs to be observed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2013

There are few things that would make me hesitate to come back to this Sheraton :

1. The Evening hors d'oeuvres only serves meatball with sweet chili, honeydews , and one type of cake.

2. The bedbox is too high. Unsuitable for people who have small kids or pets.

3. The comforter that I slept on has blood stain on it. I wonder if it is washed.

There are other Sheraton that offers better Evening hors d'oeuvres at the club lounge. The only thing that met my expectation is the free wifi.

We stayed here for one night after a day of hiking at nearby Cheeseboro Canyon. This hotel was a welcome sight to return to. The front desk is very friendly and once you enter the lobby you can see that this hotel has undergone extensive renovation. The room is a bit small. King size bed is high off the ground and quite comfortable. The media stand is a bit close to the bed so it makes the room seem a bit tighter. Bathroom is spacious and clean. There were only small nicks and tears around that made me feel as though our room wasn't as updated as some others but for the price and location this hotel is a great deal.

Room Tip: Choose a mountain view on a higher floor for great views

We stayed here rather than the more expensive options in Malibu. We wanted to take a short hike in the Santa Monica Mountains (visited the Gillette Ranch), have lunch in Malibu and then visit the Getty Villa. This location worked perfectly.

The hotel itself is modern and airy, with high ceilings at the entrance. Our room was clean and comfortable. The bed was a bit on the soft side but I like a very firm mattress. The pillows were large and I regretted forgetting to bring my travel pillow. The only complaint about the room was we could hear the floor creaking above us. That was a surprise.

We had access to the Member Lounge and had some appetizers upon our early evening arrival. Beer or wine was available but at a price. A hot breakfast was available in the lounge the next morning. I appreciated the fresh fruit. Everything else was adequate. The lounge room itself is a bit dismal. I imagine when the weather permits, it is a lot nicer to sit out on the patio and enjoy a wonderful view but it was too cold when we stayed here.

Staff at the desk and bar were friendly and helpful and parking out front was no problem. If I needed to be in this vicinity again I would stay here.

Beautiful hotel with modern rooms and lush beds. Stay here frequently on business and I highly recommend it. Super friendly staff. Excellent restaurant on site that serves a wonderful breakfast buffet.

I stayed at the Sheraton Agoura Hills over the Christmas Holidays (December 22, 2012 - Jan 5, 2013).

This is a nice property (although the rooms are beginning to show a bit of age) in a great location right off the 101 and close to Kanan Dume Rd. - which takes you through the hills to Malibu via a scenic drive. The hotel is located in a beautiful area (Agoura Hills, Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks) offers free parking, and very competitive rates.

The staff overall are pretty good, although some better than others as a few of them gave me incorrect/inconsistent information. I would advise that If you really need to get something done, or have an important question/request, you should speak with Glenn at the front desk. He is very professional, helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable.

The restaurant is fairly good and the breakfast buffet is well appointed. If you've got lounge access (club floor or platinum) you'll get free breakfast and evening snacks there. The lounge itself isn't that great, however, as it's really just a converted hotel room, with very limited space. If you happen to go to the lounge for breakfast in the morning and the lounge is full (which is often), you can request from the front desk that you receive the breakfast buffet downstairs in the restaurant, and they should oblige.

As a Starwood platinum member, I was able to get a free upgrade to a suite, which was quite nice, although they are only offered with 1 king bed so if you actually need two beds, someone will be on the pullout in the living room.

One minor irritation with my stay was the handling of the "make a green choice" policy currently offered by many starwood hotels. The "green choice" is that you can decline full housekeeping service for a night in exchange for either starwood points or a restaurant voucher of $5. Throughout my stay of about 2 weeks, I had requested the "green choice" for every night but 1. I didn't receive my vouchers on a consistent basis (probably less than half the time), and I was told by the front desk that I would receive starpoints at the end of my stay in lieu... which were never provided.

Overall a good experience and great value. I will likely stay at the Sheraton Agoura Hills again this year on another California vacation.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool (south side) can be a bit noisy, depending on the time of year.

Nice Sheraton in a good setting so it does not feel like a typical Sheraton

Clean, modern and somewhat updated

Suite was nice and large... nice large shower

I would stay here again as the people were nice who worked here... club floor breakfast was typical and fair at best

About 20 miles from a good outlet mall

Had a business event at the Sheraton Agoura Hills last night. The food was excellent! The staff was helpful and wonderful, worked hard and were very pleasant. Have been doing events for 14 years at various venues. This was new for us. Very happy with Sheraton, pleased with their price. The overall experience was wonderful!

Room Tip: Did experience the rooms, will have to check that out and review later.
