“unique, fun, quirky, a special experience worth trying..”
Reviewed August 12, 2010

Let's seperate these reviews from before 2009 when Tim and his team took over the place; from before; some reviewers are correct; a husband/wife team owned and ran this hangout for 50 years; and they only would fire up the grill if 4 people wanted steaks...due to health reasons they turned it over to Tim and his staff...big difference; better experience. Tim also runs Cornell winery next door; also worth checking out. only open Thur thru Sun; small place; gets noisy and crowed. Best value steak meal in town; for $20 you get a nice Sirloin; grilled to perfection; house salid; and a fantastic big, baked potato, covered in special salt...their sour dough bread is out of this world...the cheese/meat appetizer is big enough to share...and the deserts are sublime; their chocolate-banana bread pudding and coblers are all tasty...but at times the service is slow; the patrons a bit loud, but we go for the charm; like Cheers bar on tv; Tim gets to know the regulars; and makes you feel welcom. Get a bottle of wine from Cornell; bring it to the restaraurant and have them open it for you; great value; fun location, but fancy, quiet dining its not...

“Old Place New Experience”
Reviewed February 11, 2010

We were able to get a last minute reservation and had to sit next to the door on a rainy night, Very busy place. Food was excellant. Had the chicken and enjoyed every bite. Prices were reasonable and service was very friendly and fast. Small restautrant with booth style seating. Great for an off the beaten path place to dine.

“Good Times”
Reviewed August 16, 2008

You go to this place purely for the experience. It is in an original post office from the 1940s. The owners just throw your food at you and yyou feel like you are in a bar from the old western movies. I love taking people to this restaurant for a different experience. If you are expecting excellent service and a regular experience you have come to the wrong place. But, the food is quite good and the atmosphere is worh it . Enjoy!
