This is an excellent choice for an evening meal. Our party of all had good meals from the menu. Service was great. Ask for back room seating.

The only problem with Amsterdam is that it is so popular. Or as Yogi Berra said, "nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded." They don't take reservations but if you get there at 11:30 for lunch or 6:00 for dinner you should be okay. Great dinner specials. Everyone's favorite seems to be the turkey wrap (I've never had it) but the famous dish is the avocado and crab cake sandwich.

I have eaten at Amsterdam Cafe several times while I was a student at Auburn and on visits back. The turkey wrap is very good, but recently I have been eating the Crab Cake and Avocado sandwich and it is delicious. I get the sweet potatoe chips as my side. I really enjoy eating here.

If Cheers were a restaurant, this would be it. If you are looking for a different dining experience in Auburn and want to get away from the same old chain restaurant meal, then locals know that the best place in town is Amsterdam Cafe. It's small and cozy, and to go on a weekend is to see many people you know. Service is always top notch, and after a few visits the wait staff, many of whom have worked at the restaurant for years, will know you and anticipate your every whim. Tends to be crowded at night, especially on weekends, so go early unless you want to wait while browsing at the neighborhood shops the Cafe shares a building with. If I have one complaint, it would be that the menu tends too much to fish dishes, but there are still plenty of options for everyone. Don't miss this unique Auburn experience.

Have never had a bad meal here. Tends to get crowded, close to campus and heavy student trade. They have a good variety on the menu, I like their soups. Their salads are also very good.
