This is one of our go-to places for lunch or dinner when we want something a little upscale. Food is always terrific, and the ambiance is great too. The crabcake sandwich and lamb burger are my favorites for lunch, and I always try to test one a different dinner entree each time I go, and have not been disappointed. My only complaint is that everyone else loves it too, so it can be hard to get a table at times. Service is always terrific.

“One of the Best Restaurants in Auburn”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

Eclectic and varied menu with very good service. This is one of the nicer, trendy restaurants in Auburn and quite close to the University Hotel and Auburn University. Nice menu, good wine list. Older )front) portion of the restaurant is friendlier and more appealing than the more modern addition toward the back of the building. Service was very good and the cost is reasonable for such a experience.

“Good place to bring your college student for a real meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

I have been to Amsterdam cafe several times when visiting my daughter in Auburn. They have good service, good food and something on the menu for everyone. There are sandwiches , salads and heartier meals for bigger appetites. The booths are comfortable. The restaurant is not downtown but not too far from campus. A great option for those trying to steal a little conversation time and good meal with their Auburn student ( and maybe a friend or two who want a decent meal).

“Great Food and Service - War Eagle!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

Amsterdam Cafe is easy to miss unless you know Auburn. It is one block off of the main street and closer to the interstate that other places. It's not as hectic because it's set apart. But well worth the visit. It used to be more of a college student place to eat but they recently renovated and it is sophisticated and has a more European feel to it.

Indoor seating is a bit louder, altho not bad. But the outdoor space is delightful - covered in climbing vines and has a wonderful street view. Our waiter was attentive and skilled - our party of 11 had excellent service and food. The salsa appetizer could be a meal, and if you are a hummus fan, don't miss this appetizer. Hamburgers, sandwiches, fish, stuffed chicken - everyone had great food.

This is an Auburn favorite and should be a stop for anyone on game day or if you are passing through Auburn on the interstate - just a few short, easy miles from I-85.

“Good food in a college town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012 via mobile

Ok, it's a college town...and a small one...but the food is good. Fish was a bit overcooked, the rice was spicy and very tasty, the fried artichokes were terrific. The best choice in a region better known for BBQ and typical college food.
