Chewacla State Park is a nice place to go for a hike or for a family picnic. The woods are beautiful and the lake is very pretty as well.

The scenery here is pretty nice, I'd recommend going during the fall. There are plenty of trails to take advantage of as a runner/biker. I also loved jumping along the rocks, but that's not a good idea after a storm.

I love Chewacla and my family goes often for picnics and outdoor play. While you cannot improve on the natural beauty of the place, the facilities need a little work. The playground equipment has been the same for 30 years. The "beach" is almost completely overgrown with grass. The boats are in a sad state, as well as the wooden benches and wooden picnic tables. You can still have a great time, but the place just seems a little run down.

We rented canoes, paddleboats and went hiking. Lots of fun but still has the same playground equipment form 35 years ago.

Me and my family love Chewacla during the summer. There is a really cool diving board in the lake that we challenge eachother to do tricks off of. My wife and I were married by the waterfall. This is a great place for a romantic date as well.
