We absolutely love Cheeburger Cheeburger in Auburn. Located in downtown Auburn on the same block as Toomers Corner, this location has been in business since the early 1990s at least, a long life for a college town burger place. During our most recent visit the service was fast and friendly. The interior is decorated like a 1950’s dinner with metal tables and chairs and lots of neon. Several wall mounted TVs allow patrons to keep up with the hometown Auburn University Tigers and other sports. Milkshakes and cheeseburgers dominate the menu with an incredible variety of each. The cheeseburgers are essentially “build your own” with over a dozen toppings available at no additional charge. The highlight for us is the onion rings, light, crispy and oh so good – order a big basket and just walk across the street to the Chevron gas station to buy breath mints if you must, but these onion rings are not to be missed. Our order was prepared correctly and dining was not rushed. It took a little longer than I would like to get our check, but I will give them a break as it was a busy basketball game weekend. We keep coming back here and list it among our favorite Auburn dining experiences along with Niffers, Auburn Ale House, Buffalo Connection, Momma Goldberg’s, and the Barbecue House.
