Very cool museum! In close competition with the Spy Museum. Visit both in one day. Have lunch in the area in between visits. Fascinating! The employees are very pleasant and helpful. Handicap friendly!

Being from the northwest, seeing Ted Bundy's car was a draw. it is in the lobby so tickets not really needed. Many good displays but feel that it could be larger and with more items. We went here because it stays open later than other DC area museums on a Friday. We enjoyed it well enough.

Thank M K

Two kids and three adults - we went on a Sunday in the late afternoon and avoided the crowds. Interesting displays and hands on activities to keep us all entertained.

We had this as part of our 48hr Big Bus Tour ticket. We went later in the day (1 hour before closing). The venue was virtually empty but had lots of really interesting displays and things to do. For a small fee our 8 year old completed an adventure hunt (she was tired and didn't want to visit the museum, but this helped to invigorate her). There is a chance to find out let's about different aspects of crime and punishment and also get a mug shot taken! We had a go at driving a police simulator and shooting some criminals. In the basement there are many TV screens and further interactive activities to do, but because we arrived a little too late were unable to do any of these.

I would recommend this as part of the Bug Bus Tour.

We just came back from DC with our 9 yr old son. This from the reviews we thought this was going to be a hands on museum with lots of interactive things to take part in. There are very few interactive things going on here. It is an interesting museum filled with lots of reading and facts about crime and weapons from all different era's. Lots of guns and stuff on display. Your children might be board if they are not into reading and if they are into reading they might get scared. We also went to the spy museum and found that to me a lot more interested and there were tons of interactive things for our child to take part in. So..... if you want to lean about cops and robbers and the tolls they use then this could be a good pick. If you want interactive things to do then you might want to consider the spy museum instead.

Thank you for your visit and review. We are sad to hear that you didn't experience what most of our guests do... as we do have over 100 interactives for all ages- some are for children but then we have many that are for any ages- ranging from "how fast can you break out of prison" to driving and shooting simulators. Many people also enjoy our forensic lab experience- where they try to see if they can do what the investigators do- and solve the crime.
