“Intruiging and Creepy!”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

A few friends and I opted to visit the museum since the Spy Museum across the street was already closed. Fortunately for us, this museum stays open until 7 on Sundays. I didn't know what to expect but was instantly intrigued when I saw Ted Bundy's VW on display in the lobby.

There are two floors of exhibits that have everything from medieval instruments of torture to items owned by notorious serial killers. You can even play a simulation game and "go after some bad guys" yourself.

I loved the car owned by Bonnie and Clyde....and you'll get a glimpse of the America's Most Wanted sound stage. Not only was the museum informative, it was very interesting.

“An Interesting Place”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

This was our first visit. We did not know what to expect. There are 2 floors of exhibits. The 2nd floor starts off in the medieval era and takes you to the present with information of all kinds of criminals, the punishments given and the good guys. It described what each one did, how they were caught & their demise. There is a large display of weapons used by law enforcement & criminals. The displays for the forensic sciences were extensive. A lot of areas had interactive displays. The best one was towards the end on the 2nd level where you can drive 2 simulators for emergency vehicles and shoot a replica 9mm (Glock or S&W) at a crime scene. The lower level had the live set for "America's Most Wanted" and lots of info on the show and its host. Plan to spend at least 3-4 hrs. to check out all the displays. It was very informative!

Dear SunFun4850 - Thank you so much for your review SunFun! I wish I was having fun in the sun with you! Our Museum has a lot more than you would think. From the outside it looks small, but it isn't. I am glad you got jumped right into the simulators. They are the actual simulators used in Police Academies all over the country! Pretty cool, right! We think so! Thank you again for your wonderful review and we hope to see your sunny self again soon!

“Love this Museum!”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

5 Stars! Medieval punishments, Pirates, The Wild West, Bonney and Clyde, Al Capone (had no idea his jail cell was so fancy...LOL), Natalee Holoway Resource Center, America's Most Wanted Studio, and so much more! My husband, two teenage daughters and I toured this museum on September 8. We honestly thought we'd be in and out quickly but actually spend a couple of hours exploring! There was so much to do and learn about for all. Our daughters are 15 and 13 years old. They found this museum interesting, exciting and informative. It's well organized chronologically. Great location near China Town. The staff is professional with outstanding customer service. We'll visit again each time were in DC! Stephanie~Central NJ.

“Thoroughly enjoyable, fun and educational for all ages”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

I had read about this museum on Trip Advisor and was impressed by all the positive reviews. I visited the Spy Museum in DC last year and majored in criminology, so figured this would be right up my alley.

This museum did not disappoint! The exhibitions were informative and very diverse: as you walk through the museum it takes you on a well laid out journey of the history of crime and punishment and you become engrossed in the fascinating details and factoids that the museum provides. I was able to spend two hours in here easily and left entertained.

This is a great use of your time if you are in DC and a must-see in my books.

“Interesting Museum of Crime and Punishment throughout the years.”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

We enjoyed this museum. There is an admission fee. It was interesting to see how criminals were punished many, many years ago. Also, reasons people were arrested and/or punished was interesting, also. The forensics area was neat. Opportunities for photographs are possible.
