My entire family loves Sushi Go Round. If we attend anything in the MCI center we make a point to stop and eat there. It may not be the best sushi you had but I would challenge to find a place with more variety rolls. In many places the rolls start to blend together after you tatsed a few different rolls. Not hear, the taste (especially of their specialty rolls) and to me almost more imortant the texture of each roll is distinct and a surprise. I personally enjoy a roll that has a snap or crunch to it instead of all being the same "mush".
The place is tiny and we always sit in the restaurant side and order mostly specialty rolls and for the kids the the vegetable and chicken tempura appetizers which a very light and crisp.

There aren't many sushi-go-rounds here in DC, so the conveyor belt style sushi is really interesting and neat. If that's all you're looking for, though, try Sushi Yo! up at Union Station since they have a better selection on their belt and a fun, lively atmosphere. Sushi-Go-Round is still worth a trip if you're just looking for some tasty food, especially before/after catching a movie up at Gallery Place or if you're doing some shopping in the area. You'll have better luck if you order off the menu, though, since there's usually pretty scant pickings on the conveyor belt and no way of telling how long the food has been circling around. The service is the one shining exception. The waiters, waitresses and hostesses are all exceptionally friendly and will go out of their way to make you feel welcome and taken care of, and even the sushi chefs go above and beyond to make sure that you're enjoying yourself.

Again the granddaughter has such an interest in Asian culture This place was very small.................hard to find... but with the help of a mall cop and at the recommendation of our hotel server we found it and it was good.
The portion was enough for all to enjoy the asian flavor.

My family and I made a stop here at 7pm for dinner before seeing a movie. There is a dining room area and a belt room, pretty small belt area, only 20-25 people would fit there. There were 11 people sitting at the belt and 5 plates on the belt. It was ridiculous! As you can imagine, if a chef put an item on the belt everyone wondered if it would make it around. The waitress said we could order from a menu, that's not the point of a belt now is it. The sushi itself was mediocre. The actual dining area looks like it was hastily put together from a pantry area carved out of the restaurant. We left and ate dinner somewhere else after the movie.

For a quick sushi fix, Sushi Go-round is hard to beat.

1. They do have a "kaiten" that moves sushi plates around, much like they do in Japan - looks quite authentic
2. Sushi tastes good and seems fresh
3. Of all sushi places I tried recently, they use the least amount of rice. In my book that's a plus as it reduces useless carb calories, and improves roll taste. It's all about fish, not lumping tons of rice on it.

Service is "variable" but you don't use much of it anyway.
