“Nice property great location”
Reviewed March 10, 2013

I stayed here two nights on the concierge floors in a king room. I was pretty pleased with the hotel and the HHonors benefits (Diamond level) I received. The room was modern and comfortable, windows opened as well which is breath of fresh air. The concierge lounge was decent, though it wasnt a grab and go kind of place, there was a bartender who prepared the drinks. Food was decent there.
The gym was good, though you have to pay 10$ day fee to use it (its a private club on the terrace level). No charge for higher HHonors members.

There is a nice pub in the lobby with a good selection of drink. Prices were high but not unreasonable for a hotel.

The best part of this hotel is its location on Conecticut Avenue, near Dupont Circle and the metro along with plenty of places to go to in the nearby area. You can also walk across the bridge to Woodly Park.

Caution: a lot of the lower price rooms lack a true bed (there is a sleeper sofa) so pay attention when you book. My original booking was for a palor room and I changed it to a king when I found out.

Room Tip: be sure you are aware the Palour rooms lack a regular bed and instead have a sofa bed.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Washington Hilton. We are pleased you enjoyed the hotel and our wonderful location. Thank you for advising that when booking, it is important to make sure the room specifies either a king or double bed as the room type, since we do offer Parlor rooms that contain only a sofa bed. We appreciate your loyalty to Hilton as a Diamond Member and hope to welcome you back on your next trip to DC.

Full disclosure: I used to live down the street, so I know this area well (and now many of its hotels, when I visit).

Recently renovated and that makes a huge difference:

1. Spacious, comfy rooms
2. Very helpful staff (especially door and bellhops--though I feel sorry for the folks working outside in the winter with no heat lamps!). Also front desk, had a problem with my stay, which was effortlessly fixed even though the hotel was swarming with thousands of people for a conference.
3. Okay food.
4. Love Dupont Circle and the U Street Corridor. If you're visiting DC on business, good business services (and conference facilities).

If you're here for tourism, there are tons of restaurants and night life within a 1 mile radius.

And if you're a walker, you're in walking distance of all sorts of great sites like Zoo (10 minutes), Dupont Circle (7 minutes), Masonic Temple (7 minutes), National Mall (25 minutes), White House (25 minutes), Georgetown (25 minutes), Embassy Row (10-15 minutes).

One thing to consider:

1. It's a short walk to the metro, but it is a walk. So if you're doing business meetings with tight schedules, expect to cab it (sometimes the metro is easier, especially during rush hour, when traffic via surface streets will make it much more difficult to get around).

Nice hotel, pretty much the ususal Hilton. Service was good. The hotel restaurant was good as well. One night it was raining and we didin't want to venture out. The food and the service was just fine! The location is great. Very walkable area, a lot of shops, a lot of places to eat!

Well appointed, comfy rooms but food prices in the restaurant and coffee shop were ridiculously expensive; internet too. Beds sleep extraordinarly well and the baths are very modern. Recommend you eat elsewhere for better value. $22.00 for a sit-down breakfast and $20 for a lunch sandwich are over the top.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review the Washington Hilton. We are glad that you enjoyed your room accommodations and suggest that on your next visit to take advantage of some of the many packages the hotel has to offer. I recommend either the “Bed and Breakfast” package which includes our buffet breakfast for two, or the “Everything You Need” package which includes valet parking, breakfast, in-room internet, and health club access. There are also numerous nearby restaurants that fit into any budget. We hope you will consider staying with us again on your next visit to DC.

My wife and I stayed one night last week and had a fun stay. We got a really good rate through one of the online hotel wholesalers, which make staying at a Hilton much easier.

The Adams Morgan restaurant and bar scene is only two (long) blocks away. There are so many choices for lunch, dinner, and late night in that funky little district. This is the only hotel that we found so close to this area.

The hotel itself had a nice Irish styled bar right beside the lobby elevators. There is another bar as well, but it looked a little sterile. The staff was curious and helpful. The check-in and check-out was pretty easy. One downer is the price of parking; although all DC Hotels seem to have very expensive valet and self-parking rates. We chose self-parking for $36. The room was small but furnished with a very comfortable bed. We had a nice view and a window that opened. The bathroom was small as well, but the shower had nice hot water and good water pressure.

Hilton's are nice hotels and as far as Hilton's go, it’s pretty average on the inside, but the location to Adams Morgan raises the rating.

We booked this hotel while on your vacation trip - Me, Wife and Parents. The hotel is not different from what a Hilton usually is. Comfortable, Classy and Highend. Though the price seems to be high - But thats what you have to pay for the location. You can enjoy a good walk to the Dupont Circle with lots of shops. The Mall is closeby.

Overall good stay.

Room was comfortable and roomy, and the convention area was easy to find and hold meetings. Hotel staff is helpful, and kept rooms clean. Food prepared by the hotel for the conference was very good and tasty.
