“Nice-But a bit pricey for the per diem traveler!!!”
Reviewed April 23, 2012

Hotel was very nice, but expensive!!! Like I have stated I am a family type of traveler. If I wasn't here for a conference, I would have stayed somewhere else. No real amenities in the room to speak of. It was very clean and comfortable, but lacked things needed for someone traveling on per diem to stay with-in budget. No fridge or microwave. The restaurants and room service on site were very expensive. I understand this is a high end hotel but a little too high end for me traveling. I will say that the Hotel is situated in a great district in DC. Everything needed was with-in couple of block walking distance. Nice restaurants, drug stores and hip drinking establishments. The Metro at DuPont circle was about 4 blocks from the hotel which made sightseeing and a trip to Capitol easy. Also taxis are readily available and somewhat cheaper than Chicago. The service in the ballroom was excellent, food was great for the 2 events we had!!! I hope this helps!!!

Room Tip: Bring a cooler and walking shoes!!!

Thanks for taking the time to review the Washington Hilton. We highly value our per diem travelers and in hopes to get more government business have recently began offering a package that includes FREE internet and FREE breakfast for one adult traveling utilizing the government rate. Additionally, you can request a refrigerator be delivered to your room. Please keep us in mind on your next trip to DC.

This hotel lived up to all of my expectations, except for one-no refrigerator in the room. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The outdoor lounge area, complete with fire pits and comfortable lounges/couches was a great place to sit in the evening and enjoy a glass of wine and talk with friends.

Room Tip: They do not allow foldaways unless you reserve a king size bed-due to DC code-so you should plan acc...

I stayed at the Hilton for a week for a conference that was being held at the hotel. This hotel is huge. My room was a good 1.5 minute walk from the elevator. Unless I wanted to use the back elevator, but it never seemed to arrive. I had an awesome view of the Washington Monument from my 9th floor room. The room was clean, spacious and had a very comfortable bed. The food at the hotel was above average for a hotel, I would say. I didn't have to pay for any of it, but the prices seemed to be average for a hotel as well. They had good coffee at their restaurant, too. The one real perk about this place is the outdoor bar / fire pit area. They have a very large deck, with comfortable furnishings and tables, large LCD TVs and a fire pit. It was a great way to end the long days at my conference. The hotel's layout can be really confusing at first, especially in the convention center area. All of the staff were incredibly accomodating and pleasant. I actually forgot something in my room after check out and they were really helpful with retrieving it. I dont go to DC often, this was a great place to stay. The location is within walking distance of really good restaurants and coffee shops. Public transit was not very convenient, but cabs were always available.

Thank you for taking your time to review the Washington Hilton. We are proud to be DC's best convention hotel and it sounds like you had a great stay and were able to enjoy our superb banquet culinary experience. The outdoor area is fantastic with the fire pits and makes for a great place for a meal or just to relax. We look forward to hosting you again at the Washington Hilton.

Very nice hotel, great staff, and loved the location. My family stayed at the Washington Hilton for 4 nights. Main purpose of the trip was for sightseeing with Family. Lots of great restaraunts and the neighborhood has a great feel / look. Hotel check in staff was very friendly. Easy to get to the Metro - about a 10 minute walk.

Stayed here for a conference in January 2012. It's exactly what you would expect from a regular Hilton Hotel - it is professionally run, the medium-sized rooms are clean, and it has all the necessary conference facilities and catering options so that you wouldn't have leave the hotel for a week if you didn't want to.

Which would be a shame though, as the area is quite lively - there are lots of bars and restaurants right around the corner on Connecticut Ave as well as in the Adams Morgan area, which is within walking distance. The nearest underground station (Dupont Circle) is roughly 10 minutes away, so the city's main tourist drags are quite easily reachable.

Overall, a good option particularly if you're at a conference here, but it naturally lacks the charm of a smaller and more intimate hotel.

We spend 2 nights here. The hotel is located in the middle of DC., but it is quite far from subway station. There are some nearby areas where we can walk and shop, but have to call a cap to go there.

The room quality is great. Decent room space, nice bathroom. The outdoor fireplace is lovely. The breakfast were great, lots of variety to select. The waiters were nice and friendly.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Washington Hilton. It's great to hear you enjoyed our hotel's many amenities including the outdoor fire pits. The location is actually quite convenient and reaching metro is less than a 10 minute walk down hill if you exit the terrace side and cut across 20th street. We hope you'll return to the Washington Hilton on your next trip to DC.

My family and I stayed for eight nights. I was in DC for work reasons. We arrived without our luggage but concierge kitted us out with all kinds of toiletries. They put us on 10th floor (executive level) but our room was a very long walk from the elevators. The executive lounge can get very crowded at breakfast time, so much so that we couldn't get a seat. Gym is good, tho a long walk from the room. Location is very close to dozens of restaurants along Connecticut Avenue. We got the room on Expedia for $129 a night, cheap by DC standards.

Room Tip: Our room had a broken towel rack which employees tried to fix every day -- to no avail.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Washington Hilton. It's certainly true that we are one of DC's largest hotels and can be very busy. The location with so many DC restaurants make allows our hotel to provide a true DC experience. We hope you will choose the Washington Hilton again on your next trip to DC.
