I loved my stay here! The room,(suiet,) was beauitful and very comfortable. Even the roll away bed was comfortable! (It was on of the most comfortable beds I ever slept in.) The room service was average, still better than most. The only thing however, was that the breakfast reasturant was not too great. The room was small and the tables were very close together. I would go back anytime!

Room Tip: Any room with an entrance view!

Loved our stay in Washington DC and was very happy with our choice of hotel. Beautiful room with large bathroom and a fantastic location from which to enjoy all the cities attractions. Great breakfat with loads of choice although with a set price was quite pricey if not overly hungry however we found plenty of other options for breakfast a very short walk away for subsequent mornings.
Location was fantastic being walking distance to the museums, monuments and many good quality restaurants. Loved being able to hire bikes and cycle round the area.
High security presence in the hotel due to an overseas visitor which have to admit was a little unnerving in the beginning but our daughter thought it was quite cool having secret service sitting outside your room. Hard to resist not humming the Mission Impossible theme tune everytime we returned to our room!
Only two negatives were having to pay for wi-fi and no complimentary water in the room.
A great stay would definitely return.

Thank you for your fantastic review and for recommending the Willard as your choice of hotel while visiting the Washington, D.C. area. It truly is easy to navigate around this beautiful city from the hotel, whether for the attractions or the numerous culinary offerings. I hope you have had the opportunity of visiting the InterContinental London Park Lane and our latest addition to our London collection, the Westminster InterContinental; they are truly delightful. We look forward to welcoming you back from across the pond in the near future.

Sincerely,

This past weekend my wife and I stayed at the beautiful Willard Hotel in Washington, DC. I concur with the other reviews. The history of the hotel: Lincoln, Grant, Martin Luther King, the grand marble lobby (look up at the ceiling and try to find your state) the service, the linens (my wife thought they were the most luxurious she had ever seen and the restaurant and bar were incredible. We had both our dinner and breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant Café du Parc. Both meals were excellent and the service, provided by Juan H. was even better. The buffet breakfast was just as good with a wide selection of every imaginable breakfast choice, and again the service was exceptional. On Saturday we walked the few blocks to the "Newseum"(check with the hotel concierge for directions. He may provide you with a coupon for discounts at the museum). The Newseum had a special tribute to the Kennedy's which my wife wanted to see. I wasn't even aware of it but after viewing it, which was very well done, it actually made me sad. It brought back many memories of that time in my life when the world was a different place...a place called Camelot!! On a glorious, fall Sunday morning; we walked over, past the White-House, to the Renwick Gallery to view their basket exhibit. Very Interesting...honest!

Room Tip: We had asked for an upgrade, if available as well as early check in. We were pleasantly surprised w...

Thank you for taking the time to write such a positive review. The team strives on great service and going that extra mile to make sure that our guests happy and I am pleased to see that we met your expectations. I am happy that we were able to start your day off just right with a hearty breakfast. I will be sure to share your comments with Juan. I have to agree with you in regards to the Kennedy exhibit at the Newseum. Although it was melancholy, it was very well done. I was unable to visit the basket exhibit and will have to remember that for next year. We are happy that you and your wife had an experience that you will always remember fondly and look forward to welcoming you back.

The staff was exceptional - very courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. The decor was very historic, and the location could not be beat. The museums were all within walking distance with
phenomenal restaurants at every corner. The view from the room was gorgeous, and the room itself was extremely spacious and well kept. However, the mattresses were a bit too soft for my preferences, and the sheets felt of akin to wrapping paper.

From you first entrance into the famous lobby where President Grant coined the phrase "lobbyist" to the circle bar you are surrounded with our nations history. Here is where Lincoln stayed with his family and he swilled champagne. The staff is exceptional and the rooms are just perfect for relaxing, entertaining or just depressurizing after a long day.

Room Tip: Do not stay at the front of the hotel unless it is a corner suite.

I loved this hotel, it is a wonderfully historic hotel in a great location. The room was spacious and bathroom very clean. I would comment that this was the only place in our 5 week vacation in the USA that we had to pay for wifi....we got it free on trains, planes most cafés and every other hotel we stayed at. Having said that it did not dampen our experience we loved this hotel. Dining options nearby are great.

As a treat for my husband and I, we go into Washington DC for a weekend of dinner and theater. The perfect hotel to stay at is the Willard. I use to try and get a room with a view of the White House, but it doesn't matter so much anymore, because all the rooms are nice. The staff makes you feel special in every room! The linens are luxurious and the rooms are so beautifully decorated. You can walk to the National or Warner theater and the Kennedy Center is a convenient cab ride away. Drinks in the bar after a night out is a great way to end the night Room service for breakfast on Sunday morning with the Post is the best! The food is good, hot and served beautifully. It doesn't get better than this.
