“Historical hotel near the White House”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

Gorgeous hotel with spacious room. What an historical landmark right in the middle of DC. Great architecture. You could spend a day just walking through the history of the building and reading about all of the dignitaries that have stayed there. Great location. I would highly recommend it.

Love love love everything about this hotel. We were blown away by the amount of history that has taken place in this very special hotel.Great and friendly staff, great restaurants and cafes just outside the hotel, to enjoy a cocktail or grab a bite to eat just before venturing off. Close to everything and all, and just around the corner from the White House and quick walk to the National Mall. We were so amazed at how centrally located the hotel was.
Best of all, we had a beautiful treat waiting for us at our room to start off our anniversary week, very special indeed. Thank you Willard for making our anniversary memorable. We will return very soon.

Perfection at every level. I placed my room service breakfast card on the door for 7:45 am. Delivery was delayed, so my breakfast was complimentary. They inquired if my stay was a special occasion and I explained what it was. They sent up a gratis plate with bottled waters, stone fruits, chocolate covered strawberries and the plate had Happy --Birthday written in chocolate on it. The bed and bath were spotless, marvelous food, and the housekeeping staff top
notch.

Reasonable rate for a great location - less than $200 a night. We also received a double upgrade to the top floor with a junior suite type size space. Loved the experience and even if you don't stay here, you got to have a mint julep at the Round Robin bar.

Room Tip: Always ask for an upgrade...you never know!

We just spent 4 days staying at the Willard while sightseeing in Washington DC. The location is excellent. Close to the white House and the parks behind it. Walking distance of many of the sights and museums. The hotel itself is elegant. It has an "old world" feel, but we found the rooms quite nice, relatively large and comfortable. We ate at both of their restaurants (they have outdoor seating which in the summer was quite lovely). The food was always good. Just based on the location it is probably the best pace to be if you are sightseeing or have business in the Federal Triangle area. Most of the sightseeing tour busses stop in front of the hotel. For it's service, food and atmosphere it is a wonderful place to stay.

We spent a great weekend at the Willard and highly endorse it. First off, the location is second to none. It also has an Old World feel with all of the modern updates-very classy. The Concierge services are top notch.

If location is important to you, you won't be disappointed with the Willard! Now do not miss interpret my opinion this is a great hotel as well. Very close to all major attractions, including the white house which is just 4 min walk. You are close to the Reagan Building where there is nice and inexpensive restaurants ( Mall food court type ) but also there is the capital bike share station if you planning to rent a bike to roam around the major sites is a great way to go. We had room service a couple of times and it was quick and good thanks to Cafe du parc restaurant which is "part" of the hotel. All and all this was a great experience and visit.
