“Great DC Hotel”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

Booked via AMEX Platinum travel and was upgraded 2 categories when we arrived. Impressed by the great service, beautiful interior and exterior, good food (Cafe du Parc), and a cool round bar surrounded by with interesting patrons. Sort of place one would find the Secretary of State having a Scotch (neat) after work. Leave your jeans and white shoes at home and bring your suit and tie while staying at this fun but formal place. Very friendly and international staff. Located very close to the White House too.

Room Tip: Corner suites have great views of the Washington monument and White House grounds. 2 full bathrooms...

Recent business to DC provided the fortune of staying at the Willard Intercontinental. I have stayed in several of the top rated hotels in DC for both business and leisure. By far the Willard is the best. This hotel is worth going to just to learn the history of the hotel, Lincoln, Wilson, Dr King, the list goes on and on. The hotel is exquisite in style and luxury. The lobby looks like you stepped into a 1930's period piece. The room comfortable and elegantly appointed, reminding you always that there is history here. However, the best part of the hotel is the staff, unlike many DC hotels everyone from the doorman, bellhop, front desk and cleaning staff are friendly, even happy in their day to day duties. Which make you feel all the more welcomed. I wish my stay was longer but for the 2 day I had it was perfectly lovely.

Additionally you cant beat the location, Washing Monument can been seen from many rooms, you are walking distance to great restaurants and most sites. Stay here, it's definitely worth the price.

Stayed for a few days for a conference, so probably got a little better rate than usual. My first trip to DC, and couldn't have asked for a better location. Didn't eat on site, so can't speak to that. Front desk very helpful and history abounds. Room was comfortable and quiet. Was upscale without feeling stuffy. Would recommend.

Massive. Because of its history, it is a tourist attraction so there are lots of people walking through the lobby. It is close to so many sites but not a coffee shop to be found. Large rooms and very clean.

We had the most amazing stay here. A really beautiful and impressive hotel, we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if we return to Washington DC - especially if we were lucky enough to find such a good rate again. Almost next door to the White House, perfectly situated for doing all the usual touristy stuff, and really great customer service from all the staff. Perfect.

The Willard is one of my new favorite hotels. The rooms are clean, quiet, luxurious, beautifully appointed and incredibly spacious - what's not to love! The lobby is small but lovely and the staff efficient and friendly. The concierge who recommended restaurants and made reservations for us was particularly pleasant and obliging and his recommendations were always good. The location is unbeatable - close to the White House and within walking distance of the National Mall and lots of great restaurants. Overall, a grand, old and immaculately maintained hotel that I would have no hesitation in recommending.

Beautiful hotel near the White House with historical significance that both my 8 and 6 year old could appreciate. Staff were attentive, professional and friendly. The hotel room was spacious and clean. One minor warning - skip the morning breakfast at the hotel - a petite French buffet that came with a grande check. The food was good, however this was hands-down the most expensive breakfast my family has ever eaten! And, we didn't have cocktails just two hot chocolates, tea and coffee.

Room Tip: Choose an upper floor to avoid city noises. Ask for a room facing the national mall.
