My wife and I loved our 4-night stay here over Presidents Day weekend and Valentine's Day in a deluxe king room.
The staff was amazingly attentive, courteous, polite and professional. I was especially amazed to find a copy of a book I wrote a couple of years ago, a fantasy about Thomas Jefferson returning to modern America, on the desk in our room after our first evening out for dinner; on top of it was a note from the hotel comptroller asking if I'd dedicate the book to the hotel so they could place it in the "author's in residence" shelves of their library room. Talk about attention to detail! What hotel anywhere would do such a thing? Marvelous ....
The room was lovely, quiet and comfortable, with a flat screen TV actually receiving an HD signal, Washington Post delivered every day, coffee and tiny muffins available free in a nook near the elevator every morning for no charge. No view to speak but that didn't matter.
We brought our car and called for it to drive to Mt. Vernon one day ... easy, fast. We got a free ride (except for tip) in the hotel courtesy car to Urbana restaurant on a snowy night.
When a staff member saw me studying the signed Jefferson documents on the wall near the lobby, she came over and told me all about them.
I lost a wool watchcap coking in from the snow ... and the next AM it was in the lost and found drawer ready for me.
We had an absolutely spectacular dinner in the wine room with friends on Valentine's day night ... a holiday tasting menu that was pricy but beautifully prepared and served. A very memorable meal, probably the most endlessly delightful we've ever had. That will be worthy of a separate restaurant review.
All in all, this is a truly fine hotel -- the Jefferson staff made us feel at home, took great care of us, and the hotel itself is lovely, comfortable and convenient to downtown and the mall. And for this kind of luxury and professional service, the price could not be beat (less than $280 a night with a holiday weekend package for 3 nights, and about $400 for an extra night in the same room, which we booked at the last minute because a big snow storm was due to hit our day of arrival so we came a day earlier).
Thank you, Jefferson hotel. A memorable visit. We'll be back at our first chance.

Room Tip: We had a corner deluxe king bedroom. Not much of a view but exposure in two directions and bright pa...

Dear GuyBuddy,

I am so thrilled to read about your recent stay at The Jefferson, DC. From our front desk staff to your dining experience in Plume, it sounds like you were truly able to make The Jefferson your home away from home while in DC. I was happy to read that you had a chance to take advantage of our house car and we are honored to have Thomas Jefferson, Rachel & Me available to our guests in our Book Room!

We look forward to welcoming you back!

This was our second stay at the Jefferson hotel. The location is very convenient, walking distance to the National Mall and the White House for sightseeing, and blocks away from Dupont Circle for a host of varied shopping and dining options. There is even a Whole Foods a short walk away.
Rooms are very well appointed with elegant decorations and all the modern conveniences, including some of the most comfortable beds I've slept in. Service is exemplary, as is the food. This is a hotel where absolutely nothing is overlooked.

I was amazed at the multi-lingual staff. The attention to detail, down to the fresh blueberries on the Belgian Waffles. Particular attention was paid at check-in with Mr. Tucker a true concierge and hospitality expert. He knew which room I liked. Recommended a superb excursion for the following day even though we arrived very late it felt like we were the one and only guests in the entire hotel.

The property is lovely and the staff was perfectly attentive. Our room was charming and the food, from room service to a cup of soup in the cozy Quill lounge was delicious and well presented. The staff at all levels was gracious and warm. We will happily return.

We just returned from our long weekend wedding/honeymoon at The Jefferson, and we couldn't be more pleased! The events coordinator was so helpful and understanding; the room was beyond comfortable, as well as updated; the food was wonderful; and the staff was superb. It was exactly what we wanted.

The Book Room gave our small ceremony an elegant backdrop without being stuffy. It was followed by lunch in the Private Cellar which was a perfect continuance of the casual elegance we found throughout the hotel. Being rather obnoxious foodies, Don & I were able to incorporate our own ideas and plate presentation with wonderful menu ideas and wine pairings from the talented kitchen staff. It really was the day we had hoped for.

After the wedding, we received congratulations from each of the hotel staff we encountered for the duration of our stay - an unexpected personal touch.

Our only regret was the lack of opportunity to dine at Plume. The schedule of arrivals and departures of our guests over the weekend gave us only Sunday night to ourselves, and Plume isn't available on Sunday. But Quill was relaxing for an afternoon drink, and The Greenhouse was a convenient and abundant breakfast spot.

Thank you so much for your part in creating a great memory! It was tough to leave, but we will definitely be back.

We stayed here last week and what an amazing experience. The staff and service are excellent, the attention we received was great and they met our needs. The hotel is very classy and our suite was beautiful and spacious, the bathroom is just AWESOME!! As an added bonus we used the hotel car to drive us to the Kennedy Center and the driver was courteous and friendly. I love this hotel and we will definitely be back when in D.C.

We hosted family and friends in town for our wedding over the Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. The staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming to our guests. They helped out with last minute details, entertained us in their beautiful bar area, and arranged for us to have a special farewell reception in their book room to close out the weekend. Our guests were impressed with rooms, the decor, and location - they felt they had a true DC experience. Thanks so much for being part of a truly great and memorable weekend for us-
