This hotel is remarkable. Its size, service and understated elegance is one of a kind. It is to Washington DC what the Ritz is to Paris or Claridges is to London. Remarkable rooms, bars and restaurants.

This was a great place to stay for a special event. The rooms and service were outstanding. The location is great, too. Everything was perfect. Although we didn't eat dinner in the Plume, the menu looked great. We did enjoy the Quill, and breakfast.

After just four nights we didn't want to leave, wishing we could just live there for the rest of our lives. It's beautiful, elegant and comfy, with no stone left unturned and just 4 blocks to the White House and national mall. We ate at their great restaurant (The Plume), but the hotel is within walking distance of other great places like The Blue Duck Tavern and Founding Farmers and about a 20 minute walk to exquisite Georgetown.
The mostly young staff members are efficient, knowledgeable and eager to please--absolutely professional. A highlight was the incredibly luxurious bar with great bartenders and servers bringing perfect refreshments in an ambience that "reeks of class". Biggest thrill here was the piano man, Peter Robinson, whose evocative and brilliant renditions of standards old and new warmed the little cockles of our hearts as we joyfully sang along--so much fun!
Thanks to everyone at the Jefferson, from the doormen to the maids and all in between, we'll be back. Highly recommended.

This is our favorite hotel in DC where I go at least 6 times a year and have frequented many other 5 star hotels. The service is beyond anything you will find in most U.S hotels. The rooms are small but exquisitly appointed. Everything has a price at the Jefferson but having your shirts and pants pressed and brought back to you in 45 minutes is something to be happy about, the lunch at the greenhouse is lovely with even a special cushion provided for women's pocketbooks . Truly a class act .

Fantastic and friendly hotel, the staff can't do enough for you. We stayed for three-nights and didn't want to leave. We normally use the Four Seasons and tried this for a change and we're glad we did. Clean, well kept, smart yet cosy rooms with great room service and breakfast menus! Perfect location, just a few minutes from all the major museums and monuments. Both Sargent and Christopher (Concierge) have great local knowledge and really know their city! A smart hotel with a personal feel and touch.

I was very excited to stay at The Jefferson for an anniversary getaway to DC. The room itself was fine, with a very comfortable bed and a shower with good water pressure, but it was small and didn't have that luxurious feel I'd expect for a place like this, and didn't compare to the best rooms where I've stayed. Additionally, the service could use work. They didn't acknowledge at all that it was our anniversary (if they didn't know in advance, most front desk staff ask why you're there when you arrive), and when I came in one night with takeout and asked for them to send up silverware, it never arrived. At a budget hotel, fine, that might be expected, but the standards are higher at a place like this. One other minor note: I'm marking the pool as average. The Jefferson has a relationship with a club across the street for pool access, so it's a perk for a hotel without one to have access to such a nice facility nearby, but it is a hassle if you want to go for a swim in the winter.

Dear dberkowitz,

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback about your recent stay with us. I was pleased to read that you found our beds to be very comfortable and enjoyed the strong water pressure of our showers. However, I was disappointed to read that we did not meet your expectations with the service that you experienced. I apologize that you did not receive the silverware that you had requested and I will be sure to follow up with our in-room dining team to see where the disconnect occurred. I’d also like to offer an apology for not knowing that it was your anniversary. When you do not book directly through the hotel, often times, this information does not get passed on to us. On behalf of all of us at The Jefferson, we do hope you had a wonderful anniversary and that the next time you are in Washington, DC we will be provided with the opportunity to exceed your expectations.

Sincerely,

We spent the weekend after Thanksgiving at the Jefferson for an adult getaway and it was incredible. Great location, gorgeous, luxurious rooms and impeccable service that is friendly and not pretentious. Camille quickly accommodated our request for a change to a room with a tub and she arranged to have our bags were moved to the new room while we were at lunch. The concierge, Sargent was fantastic - friendly, knowledgeable and eager to make your stay memorable. We had only planned on spending one night, but we loved it so much we extended our stay. We live locally and this will be our "go to" hotel when we want a quick getaway.
