Good hotel near DuPont Circle (allowing easy access to the city), but nothing exciting about it. The room was of an adequate size for 2 persons with 2 large suitcases, albeit the bed was slightly on the narrow side. The room has a fully equipped kitchenette. The shower has very good water pressure. Good free wifi everywhere in the hotel. Overall, a solid choice for a short stay.

Recently we stayed at the Carlyle Suites during our vacation. We selected this hotel from previous reviews. The hotel is located within 4 to 5 blocks from the Dupont Circle Metro Station. Upon checking in Bria indicated she was going to "upgrade" us. Not sure what that entailed but our room was on the back side of the hotel. We were not bothered by any street noise although we felt this was a rather quiet neighborhood. The room was complete with a kitchenette which included a keurig coffee machine, toaster, fridge, plates & pans. There is a CVS located near the Metro which we picked up some breakfast items. We felt very safe in this area.

Came here for Memorial Day Weekend, and it was my boyfriend and my first time taking a metro from the airport (DCA) into the city.

It really is a 5-10 minute walk from the metro, and the walk was really beautiful because of the neighborhood. You're surrounded by beautiful architecture that houses embassies, gay couples, college students, young families, and really more of the upper-class people. With that said, we were never bothered by loud noises from the streets below, because it is a neighborhood, and it's incredibly safe too.

I had read about how spacious the rooms were, and everyone was completely right. Funny enough, when we got into our room, we had a small and narrow hallway and the king-size bed was in front of us, and we were thinking, "ok". And then right before you turn you eyes hit the t.v and couch which offers a little more space, like any usual hotel, but when you turn the corner you're hit with the dining room table, the kitchen, the dresser, and the bathroom, and we were both thinking, "whoa!". Square feet-wise it's almost the same or maybe slightly bigger than the Palazzo suites in Las Vegas (which is saying a lot).

The hotel was nice and clean, and you also get free wi-fi. The walls weren't thin at all and we felt like we were in our own apartment.

The location of this hotel was 3-6 blocks away from everything. CVS, Trader Joe's, many restaurants/bakeries, shops, the metro, etc. It was easy to get everything we needed and get into the heart of D.C where we got to visit the national mall.

We went to Trader Joe's for some grocery shopping nearby, which is really nice when you're on a budget, and coming from Los Angeles, it was nice not to spend so much money on transportation.

I really enjoyed it here, and it's a great place if you want to get away from touristy areas, but still want to be entertained by shops, restaurants, etc. nearby as long as you're willing to walk (which is what you have to do in D.C anyway). I think the best part was that we felt like we were locals even though this is a really big city.

This hotel has very nice rooms with kitchenettes. The staff are very friendly. Their breakfast buffet is good. The elevator won't operate without a room key which is a nice additional security feature. It is near Dupont Circle, but down about five blocks. The pro is it is very quiet; the con, it takes longer to get a taxi when it's not rush hour - easy fix is to just walk to Dupont Circle where there are plenty of taxis anytime of day. There are also many restaurants for a nice meal or a quick snack.

I stayed at the Carlyle for a week for a collegiate conference. There were three of us in a double room and it worked out marvelously having a fully-stocked kitchen, boudoir area, sizeable shower, and ample storage space. Service was oustanding; front-desk workesr such as Michelle and Simon were always friendly and we were on good terms with the door keepers. The house keepers even washed our dishes (which was such a nice surprise)! I can't recommend this hotel enough for it's value with a location right near DuPont circle and amidst all the embassies.
