The hotel was clean, beds were extra comfortable and the transport service, WWW.MCSEDAN.NET was excellent. We set up the transport service a little late, the hotel has helpful but could have been more efficient. But when I talked with the driver at the transport service everything was instantly taken care of. Travel from BWI to the hotel and back to BWI was exactly on time, the car was quiet and comfortable and the drivers were efficient, professional and courteous, and the price was much less than a taxi would have been.

Second stay at the Carlyle Suites, which is one of the few hotels located near our daughter's apartment near 16th and W. The staff excels here, and the rooms are a decent value at $179 and always neat. Only minor issues are the lack of ice machines and the limited parking spots in the rear, but the staff has been very accommodating in the past, allowing us to park in their delivery zone overnight when all spots were taken.

Dear Mr. Thomson - Thank you so much for your review on TripAdvisor and returning to Carlyle Suites Hotel! Our complimentary parking is limited and we are actively looking for ways to improve upon this service offering. Our recent renovation of our parking lot did give us a few extra spaces to work with, but please continue to inform us of any future visits and we will do our best to hold a spot for you. Thank you for your loyalty and we look forward to your return! Warm Regards - MarcAnthony

What a fantastic hotel! We had booked for 2 friends to stay here and on the second night another friend was joining us. The manager upgraded us to a large suite at the normal rate of $25 extra for an extra person joining us. What a luxury! Another fabulous feature is the laptops that are available with internet to use in the lounge, such a help for travellers not bringing their own computers. We liked the Green policy of the hotel and the fun eco-friendly bath accessories. All in all, a fabulous stay in a friendly hotel way above the 3 star class that it is officially given. I have already recommended this to friends. A special thanks to the manager who was so attentive and gave us fabulous service.

I chose this hotel from a Frommer's guide to Washington DC for families looking for a cultural experience for my young teens who are not exposed to cultural diversity living in a pretty homogenous midwestern town. Was not disappointed! Normally my kids are used to holiday inn, best western type hotels. So, when we checked in and Giovanni our porter came out to our van after our 15 hour exhausting trip, opened the door and cheerily said "Welcome to DC kids!" we were off to a great start. International hotel with many travelers both families, singles and couples, airline staff and international visitors from surrounding embassies (really cool to walk the streets and see all the surrounding embassies). Dave and the other concierges were awesome! Every day when we came back from sight seeing,he'd ask the kids "Did you have fun today? What did you see?" Great experience. Excellent service.Older apartments turned hotel, but art deco was beautiful. Online pictures are pretty accurate. 3 blocks from Dupont Circle Metro, really easy to find and navigate. When walking to the metro, walk down New Hampshire to Q street. Stop at Firehook bakery on Q street and pick up a loaf of the Pumpkin Cranberry sweet bread to go....delicious!!! We ate the whole loaf sitting on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in the sun, what's better than that especially after a cold midwest winter? Also after you get off the metro, go to Kraemerbooks and Afterwards, neat little eclectic book store, cafe on Connecticute avenue. Our room had a kitchenette with mini fridge, 2 stop top burners and all the cooking essentials we needed..only thing missing was a big bowl for mixing or popcorn. Best of all I wondered what my kids reaction was going to be with no pool...they loved it! We will definetely tell others about this experience and encourage them to stay at the Carlyle Suites when they are looking for this type of experience. One last comment, Midwesterners are known for being talkative and friendly, my family is no exception to this. I have to say on our whole trip to DC, everyone we encountered was so friendly! Thanks again for the wonderful experience and keep up the great work!!!

I stayed at this hotel for six days. Overall, I enjoyed the hotel, especially since we got a decent rate (for Washington, D.C.) on Hotwire. I've listed some of the positives and negatives below. Please note that some of the points are very minor.

Positives:
- great location - about a five minute walk to Dupont Circle and 10 minutes to U/14th Streets
- clean
- small kitchenette in the room
- the lobby and rooms have some character - not a chain hotel with the standard decor
- nice view (from room 807)

Negatives:
- we were not given a room with a queen bed because we booked with Hotwire
- the bathroom is small and lacking in storage space - e.g., hooks, shelves
- poor water pressure in shower and tricky to use shower in terms of getting the right temperature
- poor lighting in the closet/entrance area of our particular room
- inconsistent service in terms of the helpfulness of the front desk staff

Dear TorontoLeesar, I just wanted to say that your review and feedback is greatly appreciated! It is the comments from our guests that give us the opportunity to improve for visitors to our Washington DC hotel. Please email me directly with your room number and stay details so I can ensure that the water pressure and lighting is corrected for the next guest that should be assigned this room. My email address is mcrimi@greataddresses.com.

As far as the bed type you received, Carlyle Suites Hotel does not offer Queen beds. All rooms either feature 1 Double or 2 Double premium Tempur-Pedic beds. Should you require a hotel in Washington DC in the future, please consider our sister property. It is newly renovated and all rooms feature 1 King or 2 Queen Beds in every hotel room. Email me for more details and I will be happy to make your next reservation personally! I hope to hear from you soon! - MarcAnthony Crimi (Manager)
