We stayed at the Carlyle Suites for 4 nights in March. This is an older hotel which has been remodeled. It was clean with an updated bathroom (great shower!!) and small kitchen with fridge and microwave. The best part of the kitchen was the Keurig!! When we first got to the room, it seemed a bit stark but over the course of the stay, we found it to be comfortable. Our room was quiet. We were in a corner, back unit with minimal noise. We had the grande double with a sleep sofa. It is a bit tight with the sleeper sofa opened up.
The good thing I found about the hotel, especially traveling with 2 kids was that it felt safe. There are people out in the surrounding neighborhood at all hours. There is a small Safeway (grocery store) a few blocks from the hotel that is a short, very doable walk. We had tickets for the trolley for 2 days, also a short walk to the pickup point and the hotel is close to Dupont circle.
The only issue, the beds are small for 2 people, especially if one is a wiggly kid!More
