“Large room”
Reviewed June 9, 2013 via mobile

Our stay here was very pleasant. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They even went to the trouble of ringing us to make sure we were happy with our room and to follow up on an enquiry we had made at reception. Our room was very large and clean with a very comfy king bed. There's a convenience store next door which was very handy however our kitchen was a bit disappointing as there were no bowls for our morning cereal and nothing to cook our evening meal with. The hotel is in a good location to some of the major attractions. It is also just a short walk to one of the stops for the hop on hop off red tourist bus.

very quick two days stay in Washington DC. Good location and excellent service and the room size huge. Two minors, although there is a kitchen there has no plates or cooking pan so the option of the kitchen is really limited to the microwave. Going on holidays im not planning on taking a frying pan in the suitcase. Parking although very comfortable, found it a bit expensive if you add the taxes.

Very quick business trip but a great hotel in a great location. I was impressed with the size of the room - two double beds, TV etc, but then discovered a fully featured kitchen with an antiquated four ring gas cooker - I was slightly surprised that there was no microwave.

The decor is dated and it reminded me of military accommodation I have stayed in in the past - solid and functional. My room didn't actually have curtains on the windows, so the people in the building opposite could see right through the net curtain.

There were a lot of tourists in the hotel which meant that the lifts and reception area were crowded at times but it wasn't a problem.

Our family booked 2 rooms at this hotel in April. The rooms are large suites with a good-size kitchen. While the accomodations are no-frills, they are comfortable, spacious (remarkable for DC), and well located next to GWU and the Kennedy Center. Our toddler granddaughter had great fun running through the room and peeking around corners. The rooms are well sound-proofed so she didn't disturb anybody. The bathrooms are on the small side. The CVS next door is a godsend for picking up breakfast and snack items. We recommend the restaurant downstairs. While the menu is limited, everything we ordered was excellent and reasonably priced --and the waitresses were very accomodating to a 21 month old baby. We will definitely stay here in future trips to DC.

Dear travelbug2408,

We're glad your family enjoyed your stay with us. These buildings were built in the days when walls were thick and sturdy so it does help a great deal in sound-proofing which is great. I will also let the restaurant manager know of your review and I'm sure she'll be thrilled. Thank you and hope to see you again in the future.

The hotel is located very close to DC attractions & tourist activities. The staff is courteous and the rooms are clean Upon seeing the room for the first time it appeared extremely old with one dollar store picture on a wall for decoration. The room itself is huge, with a large sleeping area, vanity area, kitchen with cooktop, dishes, sink & full size fridge, and a small bathroom with hideously mismatched tile. If you need a large room thats's cheap & close to everything, and are not picky about style, this is a good place to stay. The low rating is for the damage that was discovered to our rental car after we used their valet. Management denied responsibility, stating that the valet had marked a piece of paper showing the damage and that he discovered it before he took possession of the vehicle. There was fresh bright yellow paint transfer on the car that did not occur during the two times we used the vehicle. I found it unacceptable that Sharina accepted this as proof that we were at fault. She comped our parking but did not fill out the incident report she had initially stated she would do. I guess Sharina felt it was a 50/50 chance her people did it & lied about it and that wasn't enough for her to take action. if there are any problems with the rental insurance I guess she'll have to do her job then.

I stayed here for 5 nights during April. The decor of the room was very dated but the bed was comfortable, everything was clean and spacious, and that's what's important to us. Great location and walking distance to alot of tourist places. Taxi rides to all the attractions are approx $10 and $20 from hotel to airport. I had a wonderful experience staying here and will definitely return.

The place does need to be modernized. The rooms are roomy and clean. The staff is very helpfull and friendly. They do warn you on written handouts that calls are $1.00 a shot if you bother to read them. I did make a couple of calls and it took me to an answering machine never being able to connect to the opposite end. At a couple of calls like this from every other quest could turn out to be a nice bank-roll at the end of the fiscal year for thye hotel. I did signup for the hotel through a internet site only to find out later that I had been charged double for every night...intentionly They orbittized me without even buying me a drink. So before you book call the hotel and ask for their price before you sign up with anyone. Do your homework....compare...compare.. and compare..unless your comfortable with throwing money around.

Room Tip: Out of our controll. They choose the room for use.
