“Fabulous room”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 7, 2013

Just an overnight stay after a company Christmas party and we didn't want to drive an hour home when possibly not completely sober. We took ans executive suite, which had been a one-bedroom apartment in the original incarnation of the bldg, It had a huge living room with a wall of glass that allowed us to see the Potomac river when it wasn't raining. One end was a dining area, which next to full and fully equipped kitchen . Very nice modernized bath, Very large bed room with a huge foam king sized bed; it was so high of the floor that I had to take a little run-up to get in. Extremely comfortable with extra pillows and linens so you can adjust to you own liking. Plentiful closet/storage space. All lighting fixture has extra plus to operate or charge your digital devices, Quiet, very pleasant and efficient housing staff, front-office people very professional, efficient and helpful. Only had one meat (breakfast), but the simple American breakfast was deliscious.

We traveled to DC over Thanksgiving weekend. We booked through the hotel website as it offered the lowest rates I could find on the Internet. Our street facing room was very nice; good sized sleeping and living area as well as a dining spot and a full kitchen.

There was a very nice dressing room outside of the bathroom which housed two large mirrors, good lighting, a long shelf for my bathroom items and cosmetics and a six drawer dresser. Oh, and there was a magnifying make-up mirror in the bathroom; one of those touches I appreciate. The down-facing large shower head had real good water pressure too!

I like nice room lighting and was pleased that all the lamps in the rooms had dimmer switches on them. The lounging couch in the living area was VERY comfortable to recline on and turned out to be my spot to relax on while my husband enjoyed the comfy easy chair with ottoman.

The location of this hotel is great. It is two short blocks from a Metro Station and situated between Georgetown and The White House. You can walk to either.

We ordered room service once for breakfast and it came very quickly and was nice and hot. I would highly recommend this establishment.

Our family of four stayed in two rooms for two nights and it proved the perfect location for our visit to DC. The rooms were lovely and having a kitchen is always a bonus. It's located just a few blocks from the Metro, Wholefoods which proved to be a great place to eat and some nice neighbourhood bars to spend the evenings. The staff were very good about arranging taxis. We would all return again.

From reservation to check-out the personnel at the River Inn were most accommodating and friendly- they were able to advise on everything we needed. The hotel was near the metro. The room was spacious and clean. I will most definitely stay at the River Inn on my next visit to Washington!

My cousins were visiting from italy and we stayed at The River Inn because of the price- we did not want to pay the in-city prices for what ended up being a place to sleep since once we were up we were out and about. Also, the reviews and the fact that someone from The River Inn answered most of the reviews. A nice touch.

We had two rooms. Upon entering we were greated by Adrienna. We were lucky enough to have her at the reception desk the 3 days we were there. She always had a smile on her face. She also gave us great advice as to whether we should go by cab or Metro based on the time of the day. She is definitely a plus and has great customer service skills. Some of the best that I have seen. I work in a customer service based industry so I am very aware of that in particular. She spent considerable time locating two rooms that were close to each other since my cousins do not speak English, and have good views. One we had our room cards we went directly to our rooms.

They had to be one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. The room was exceptionally clean and even though we didn't use the kitchen that much, it was nice that is was stocked with plates, glasses, silverware, toaster, etc. Plus of course the coffee grinder, coffee beans and coffee machine. My cousins had quite a kick the first night making coffee in their room.
We had one lunch and 2 breakfasts at the restaurant on site. All 3 times the food was very good and there were no comlaints.

Should we have the opportunity to go back to Washington, D. C. we would definitely stay there again. We would also recommend it to anyone who asked about a place to stay in D. C.

Room Tip: Just ask for the type of room you want. If they have it available they will go of their way to acco...

I recently stayed in this accommodation for 5 nights. As others have said the "suite" is good size and very comfortable. The little kitchen has a frig, microwave, coffee maker and burners for cooking. Also included are the necessary utensils to cook with. That is good as there are not many restaurants in the immediate area (very residential), although there is a restaurant in the hotel. A Whole Foods and Trader Joes are within easy walking distance, as is the Metro and the Circulator Bus . I found the bus very convenient and inexpensive. Be aware that the rooms do not have individual heating/AC controls. As the weather was cold during my stay, I found it either a bit too hot or too cold depending on what was coming through the radiator which was not adjustable.
