A few friends and I stayed here for a night to celebrate a birthday. I really like the boutique feel of Kimpton hotels and Palomar was no different. Our room came with two queen beds and a desk, and it provided just enough space for us girls not to be cramped as we prepared for an evening out on the town. I can't remember if the room came with a microwave (memory is fuzzy), but staff provided us with a mini-fridge by request. The beds were comfy, the robes they provide for your stay are very nice (but hot), and staff was helpful. I don't know what other amenities Palomar provides, as we weren't really there long enough to use them.
Being in Dupont Circle, it's very central to many things around the city, especially restaurants and evening venues. This also means parking can be hard to find and expensive... just beware! Valet is pricey, and street parking is tricky (do NOT neglect to read parking signs very carefully), so make sure you're prepared if you're driving.
If I found a good deal, I would definitely return here.More
