Stayed here for two nights on a baseball trip to see the Nationals. Reserved an executive double. The room was spacious and updated. Beds were very comfortable. Had a great night sleep. The front desk staff were great and helpful. The complementary wine tasting every night at 5pm was wonderful. Location is perfect, just 3 short blocks to the Metro and the nightlife of the Dupont Circle area. Plenty of eateries in the immediate area. I totally recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: If you are in the immediate area at 5pm, come back to the hotel for the wine tasting before you go b...

This hotel is walking distance to a variety of restaurants and cafes and public transit. The folks at the front desk were both helpful and nice. They lent us bikes and helmets; we took a bit of a ride and saw DC from a fresh view. This is a dog-friendly hotel-water bowls are available for the guests' dogs-a nice touch! Our room was nicely decorated, but it was small and seating was limited. The bath, however, was much to our liking-it had been nicely redone and was spacious enough for two. Noise was not an issue and we felt very secure the entire time. I used their exercise equipment and found it in good working order. The exercise room was spacious and very clean.

Great hotel, good location to explore DC, and outstanding staff. Large rooms, nice decor, chic restaurant, and fantastic concierge service. After a dissapointing experience in NYC, arriving at el Palomar was great. I now know where to stay in DC.

Stayed here directly after staying in the Palomar in Philadelphia and I have to say that I liked the Philly hotel better. Washington Palomar was extremely busy, the wine hour was held In The front lobby, few chairs available and very noisy, not trh relaxing experience I was expecting. The pool is also very small, doesn't really look like the photo on the website. Having said that, I still enjoyed the hotel and would definitely choose kimpton again next time I am in the USA.

The deal included a continental breakfast which was help yourself and was better than expected. The room was well appointed, bed very comfy and the staff were very helpful.

All in all a good experience!

Hands down - definitely. New favorite hotel in DC. First of all: the area is perfect. Right in Dupont Circle, near the Metro, with lots of really good restaurants all around. The swimming pool was lovely on a very hot June morning. And the staff - absolute gems!! We had booked this because we got a steal of a deal on Priceline, but nevertheless, the front desk staff honored my Kimpton InTouch membership and upgraded us to a lovely room facing P street.

Room Tip: Try to get something facing P Street - it's really not too loud and it's so much fun for peo...

Stayed for 3 nights at the end of June 2013.

Pros: spacious deluxe room, comfortable bed, very quiet, very clean, continental breakfast included, easy check in/out,very helpful reception staff, early morning coffee served in reception. Nice location ( selection of restaurants/cafes/shops).

Cons: Expensive valet parking $51 a day considering location.

I have stayed at a Kimpton hotel before in San Francisco, this hotel just did not match up to that one.
The complimentary continental breakfast is not worth having, croissant, muffins porridge/oatmeal coffee and juice, not really a breakfast.
The room's are nice but small only a bed no other place for two people to sit.No tea/coffee making facilities in the room !!!!
The person who cleans the room is not up to scratch,a long black hair in the shower,I am lacking hair and my partner's hair is Brown/blonde and she wears it short, also a used filter tip off a cigarette on the floor, just not acceptable.

The hotel is close to Du Pont circle which is within walking distance of Georgetown. The best way to see this city(which is vast)is to use the Big Bus hop on hop off,do a 48hr pass that way you get extra passes to the river cruise ,crime and punishment museum and Madam Tussauds ,you can buy the tickets off the concierge at the hotel.
Philip the concierge is a fantastic person go talk to ,he knows where to go ,what to see basically anything you need.
Would I use this hotel again? Maybe..would I use a Kimpton hotel again.. Yes basically a great hotel chain.

Room Tip: Choose a high level floor.
