There are restaurants within walking distance that are spectacular and economical. The pool is wonderful and scenic. Very classy and elegant hotel. One could easily imagine they were a dignitary or movie star while staying here. Access to subway very close. May be on expensive side, but well worth the price. Look for discounts and stay here!

Stayed for 4 night as part of an East Coast trip to celebrate my 60th birthday. Loved the hotel and loved Washington. Good sized rooms, great pool area, super buffet breakfast and ideal for people watching. One block from the Metro for easy access to City Centre + nice selection of othe restaurants nearby. Easy walk into Centre....if you like a walk!! All in all one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.

Great hotel and nice location, 5 minutes away from metro stop and some nice little restaurants.
Staff were great. Had a problem with my key card when i checked in and next day there was a very nice tray of fruit cheese crackers and a bottle of champage as an apology which was brillent customer service.
Room was very spacios and bright and our room had a balcony. Lovely out door swimming pool with hot tub.
Washington national cathedral only 10 min. walk.

Nice hotel. A little expensive and starting to age, but a nice place to stay. Hotel staff was helpful and friendly. It is close to lots of places to eat and Woodley-Park metro station is a short block away. The ground are very nice and peaceful.

I stayed here for a conference held on site. I appreciate the character this older building has that you can't feel in a new hotel. Meeting rooms were spacious. Guest room was renovated and very up to date. I loved the window in the bathroom! How often do you see that? Linens were so soft, bed was wonderful, staff very helpful and friendly. A slight odor in the bathroom but nothing too noticeable. Join the Loyalty program and get free wifi and other perks. Several good restaurants within walking distance. Lounge and restaurant on site were pretty pricey but food was great.

Very impressive hotel in a great location near the metro and at least a dozen restaurants. Service was top-notch. Learning about the history of the place was interesting. FYI: The internet cafe in the lobby was $40/hour.

Overall, this is a nice hotel with large rooms and a price a little less than the other higherntier DC hotels. Amenities are very good and the rooms are larger than most. It is 1 block from Metro and 3 blocks to the Zoo. Also great area to walk or run.
