“Great Capital Hill location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2013 via mobile

I stayed for a business trip that required meetings on the hill. It is a short 10 min walk. The hotel service was great. Room was comfortable & clean. The restaurant was very nice with excellent service. The bar is rather small & was busy with lots of noise. It was very easy to catch a cab when needed. I was disappointed that they charged 9.99 per day for WiFi in your room. It was free in the lobby. If you drive in be aware that parking is $50.00 per day. The room did not have a mini fridge & that is unusual for nicer hotels. If you want to be close to the Capital, Union Square & the mall this is a great choice.

I stayed here for two nights on business in October 2013. It's conveniently located close to Capitol Hill (which is why I was there). The rooms and decor are a bit dated. The staff was very friendly, especially the cleaning ladies, who always greeted me personally. I checked bags twice with the valet. The hotel bar is very expensive ($9 beers) but I was resigned to paying those prices because it's D.C. The conference rooms were comfortable and the breakfast and snacks provided were adequate for the circumstances. I would stay here again for business.

Very well located, perfect for visiting Washington monuments and museums by feet.
It's a very big hotel with an amazing hall. Our room was very clean and spacious.
We found some troubles to have dinners in the surroundings (due to the fact that it was the Labor Day weekend and all offices were closed for 3 days), but we definitely will stay again in Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill in case we will come back to Washington.

I was in Washington DC over the weekend (Oct 25th - Oct 27th) for the Marine Corp Marathon. This was the host hotel for the event and honestly this was the only reason I decided to book here. The hotel has not gotten great reviews and I was nervous about staying.

Well I was nervous for nothing! I don't think our stay could have gone any better. The hotel is what you expect for a Hyatt Regency. The rooms were nice and clean (the bathrooms are a little dated) but they definitely met expectation. The beds were very comfortable and the 10th floor was very quiet. The customer service was outstanding! Every staff member from the doorman to the hotel manager was very accommodating. Their service is why I'm rating this hotel a 5 star.

The manager at the hotel bought our lunch because the kitchen was running a tad bit behind. We were having drinks and enjoying the atmosphere so much we hadn't even noticed that our food hadn't arrived! It was nice to have something like that done because it was the right thing to do not because of a complaint.

The hotel is close to everything, you can get to most of the monuments by foot and everything else with a short taxi ride.

The hotel also has a great wine, beer and spirits list. Even the gift shop had 1/2 bottles of Tattinger champange! This is my kind of place!

Room Tip: The restaurant has a buffet and also provides a menu for you to order from. I noticed that a fair a...

Our recent stay (Oct 24-28, 2013) was made excellent by a front office staff that went out of their way to be sure our accommodations met our every need. We were pleasantly surprised by their service and follow-up and appreciate the extra "Marine Corps Marathon" mile they went to place flowers in our room and provide us with the space we needed! We had family coming from all across the US; CA, KS, and FL, and everyone had a great stay. Thanks, Meghan and all!

Room Tip: Loved the Executive corner suite with the adjoining room!

Nothing ruins a stay at a hotel worse then finding out just as you are getting ready to leave that the valet service has lost your car keys. While everyone was very nice about the the situation, this should not happen at a 4 star hotel. The fact that my car was sitting unlocked in front of the hotel for my entire stay at the hotel did not make me happy. They eventually found my keys in someone else's car, and there was talk about getting a locksmith to make a new key. Everything worked out in the end, but the seething rage of the possibility that I would be without a key for my car tainted my entire experience.

This is the hotel that I usually stay at in Washington DC -- not because it is great but because it is convenient. The food is passable at the Bar and the restaurant downstairs, and the drinks at the Bar are good. Otherwise, it is a standard Hyatt hotel.
