Do you think a decent if unspectacular room for $330 per night + $47 per night for valet parking your car is a value? If so, you will love the Marriott and its $12.95 per day internet charge.

This is a typical urban high rise hotel; nice but goodness, unless the boss is footing the bill, there are much better values in downtown Washington than this.

Dear waldentenn,
Thank you for taking the time to let us know how your stay was at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center. It is certainly not lost on all of us here that spending $400+ per night comes with high expectations. I apologize that you found us to be overpriced, that is truly disappointing. Our rates do fluctuate and can be as much as 60% off the rate that you paid during non-high demand times. We also pay close attention to other nearby hotels and remain very competitive with their rates. Thanks again for your feedback and don’t hesitate to contact me at steve.k.smith@marriott.com if your travels bring you back to DC. I would enjoy the opportunity to show that we can exceed expectations.

Steve

If your looking for the tourist hotel, this would be ideal. We walked everywhere. One of the double decker tour buses of Washington Dc actually uses this hotel as a stop. Nice bonus. Room sizes were good and very clean, nice bathrooms. Staff were friendly. Your downtown so lots of tall towers so cell phone reception wasn't the best. The restaurant for this hotel is horrible. That was the worst part about it. Service wasn't bad but the options and the menus were not up to par, luckily your downtown and walking distance to everything. We would probably stay here agian if we come back in 10 years, but would do some checking to make sure nothing new has popped up that is reasonable.

Room Tip: try and stay away from the rooms close to the elevator.

This Marriott has the worst Internet setup I've seen at any conference. They have three different Internet sign ins, upper levels, lobby and conference. You can't purchase, at any price, Internet access to operate throughout the hotel. They want guest to purchase two or three different packages each day. VERY unfriendly for meetings, conferences and attendees. All of our attendees were extremely frustrated by this deceitful business practice.

Dear sbsmithfl
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your experience here at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center. I am very sorry that you found our internet options to be unfriendly to your meetings. In no way are we attempting to be deceitful. As is a Full Service Marriott standard practice we provide complimentary access to the internet in our lobby. We also provide access to the internet for a fee in our guestrooms and our meeting space. We do survey our full service competitors and are very competitive with what they offer. I do apologize that this failed to meet your needs during your meeting. If you would like to email me at steve.k.smith@marriott.com the meeting you attended I will pass this feedback on to the meeting planner to ensure for future meetings we do a better job proactively providing options for internet connect ability. Thank you again for your feedback.

We used this Marriott as our base to tour DC. Not a luxury hotel, adequate facilities, Starbucks is attached. We were able to access mass transit, tour buses, and there were many attractions within walking distance. Staff as always, we're very professional and and helpful.

Excellent hotel very well located. Just steps from Metro station ( which is very easy to use ). This is our 2nd day of 5 day stay. Room is large and very well appointed. King bed with sleeper sofa very comfortable. Nice linens and toiletries. Lamps have electrical outlets on base which is super convenient. Only downside I see is no free Internet 15 dollars a day. You have to have 25 nights a year which for a non business traveler is a little difficult.

Stayed three nights on business. Really appreciated the proximity to the Metro and all of the sites. Made it easy for me to sneak in a little sightseeing between meetings. Rooms are standard Marriott, but updated fairly recently so clean and relatively modern. Room were surpisingly quiet given the large size of the hotel. Elevators were painfully slow so keep in mind if you are given a room on a high floor. You may need to wait a lomg time for an elevator to come.

We stayed at this hotel because it was close to my husband's meetings, places I wanted to see, and to the Metro. The room was small, especially compared to the one we'd just left in Baltimore. The furnishings seemed tired. However, the staff was excellent. Kristin, a concierge, was very helpful in assisting me to find the Holocaust Museum and also a half day tour for the next day. I was able to get a 3 pm late checkout for our last day. It was easy to leave our luggage until my husband came from his meeting. I was especially happy that the Starbucks did not close at noon as I enjoyed an afternoon coffee. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant, Fire and Sage, the first night as we were late getting to DC. We split an order of angus beef sliders which was just perfect. Chucky, our server, was accommodating. I returned the next day after walking for most of the morning. My turner burger hit the spot. I was tempted to try the croissant bread pudding but resisted. Next time! On our last night there we took the Metro to see relatives who live in the area. It was great to have it so close to the hotel. And, on the last afternoon after checking out I walked around Macy's and had a WONDERFUL cupcake at Crumbs which is nearby. I would stay here again.
