We stayed there as couple for one night on 5th July. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The bathroom looks a bit dated but is good and clean. The buffet breakfast which we opted for while booking the room was wholesome and sumptuous and would definitely recommend for all to opt for.

The hotel does not provide free drinking water in the room and charge 6 dollars for the bottle provided in the room, so think before you open the bottle.

The concierge desk at hotel give wrong information and try to guide you in a way that they can make a quick buck. I was told that no shuttle to airport will be available at the time of of my departure but on contacting super shuttle directly they took the booking. Same way on the hop on hop off tour I was told that the charges are the same if I book directly or through concierge desk. Later I discovered there was a difference of 20 dollars on each ticket.Rather than helping the guest they are misguiding the guest and making money for themselves. Overall paid nearly 30% of my room tariff to concierge due to their misguidance. Best to avoid them if you stay in the Hotel.

Spent four days here being a tourist. This site is primarily business travelers and not tourist. We did the concierge package with breakfast included -- in DC this is a necessary traveling with teenagers. The concierge room was good and the morning staff were very friendly and really did a great job with customer requests and demands. The hotel is located right next to the metro center and it was very convenient but beware if you are using the metro -- they charge an extra dollar per ride if you use the paper ticket. The Concierge at the hotel was not very helpful when it came to this type of information or recommendations for restaurants or navigating the city. The Bellman and Doormen were top notch and always said hello and went out of their way to help us. Rooms are clean and good sized. My only recommendation for family travelers is to make sure you include the concierge level so your breakfast and etc is included. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: We had a street room and it was noisy at night.

We stayed at the Metro recently for the first time after having stayed at a number of other D.C. hotels over the years. The lobby and rooms are typical Marriott, clean and well-appointed. The concierge level room we had as a Platinum rewards member was nicely sized with a chair that folded out into a bed for our adult son. Better than a rollaway. The uniform practice of Marriotts of having a fridge in the room was appreciated, especially with the temperature in the 90s and the need to hydrate regularly. The lobby also had a Starbucks, a nice touch that we've seen in other Marriotts. The best feature of the hotel is the location: walking distance south to the Mall and museums, west to the White House, and east to National Portrait Gallery, Verizon Center, Chinatown and other newer museums. The Metro stop is also on the corner. There are many restaurants, both fast and fancy, in walking distance as well. A chain new to us, Cosi, was right on the corner for tasty, inexpensive sandwiches and pizza. The staff was pleasant. What I found a bit off-putting were the increased limits on food options. Marriotts used to have 24 hour room service, then till at least 2 AM. Now, service stops at midnight. As we drove down from NY after work, we didn't get in till then and had to order from a pizza shop that took forever. We didn't get our food till nearly 2. The concierge breakfast ended at 9:30 and breakfast in lobby restaurant ended at 10:30, even on the weekends. These seemed to be a bit early, particularly in a large city like D.C. I just spent the weekend in the Albany, N.Y., Marriott and they had later hours. Other than that, I would definitely stay here again.

I like it here becasue the location is central to where I work in DC. Rooms are contemporary and it has a gym that unfortunately I've never used. It gets very busy and I have almost always had to wait in line for 5-10 minutes until I am checked in. There is a Starbucks on site and it is just a few steps away from the Metro. Even thought I have elite status from Marriott, I've never been offerred conscierge floor so I don't even know if it exists. Tends to be pricey, there are defintely cheaper options (e.g. Grand Hyatt, Hotel Monaco) that are just as good so if you are on a budget I'd shop around.

We spent 5 nights here around July 4th. The metro could not be any closer as you walk out the front door and turn left and there it is! We did walk to the Mall, but for a trip to the Capitol and Arlington Cemetery the Metro was right there. Walking distance to Ford's Theatre. Rooms were nice, staff pleasant and helpful. Ate at the restaurant one night which was good. Easy check in.
Quite congested area when you are valeting your car. Look for a rate that includes parking, which is $45 a night. Great little restaurant next door by metro for sandwiches and bagels. Starbucks in the lobby. Will definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: HIgher floors are a bit quieter.

Stayed here this month as I had business in the area. Very nice Marriott with a Starbucks. Great Room Service and clean rooms. Just as nice as the J.W. down the street but half the price. Close to the Metro Center Subway Station so you can get anywhere needed.

Room Tip: Ask for a Corner Room.

We have stayed many places in DC, but I have to say the location is the BEST we found. I would easily stay here again and recommend. You are 1/2 block from the Metro Subway stop. You are 4 blocks from the National Mall. Two blocks from the Ford Theater. Look for the signs in subway "G & 12th street" or see Macy's to exit out of the subway, look up towards H street on 12th street and you will see your hotel. The beds are very comfortable. Our son loved the indoor pool with the colored lights that they have after 5pm. It was nice after walking on the National Mall or other stops. Also we found two great restaurants across the street and 5 blocks down that was kid friendly and reasonably priced. Subway is one block up and McDonalds is 3 blocks away.

Room Tip: We were on the 15th (highest floor), very quiet. Corner rooms with King Beds had lots of room.
