Traveled to DC on business & tried this hotel on a colleague's recommendation. Fine choice! lovely furnishings, free wifi, solicitous staff. Valet parking is pricey. Happy hour dining choices are a great value for a light meal.

Room was a bit small, and heard some late night noise from the adjoining room but other than that, love this place! Very charming lobby and sitting room, nice bar (did not eat at the restaurant), helpful staff, clean rooms, great location. We met some friends for a weekend in DC and as we preparing to leave, their car's battery died. The staff sprang into action and found jumper cables within ten minutes. Very concerned and helpful, much appreciated. Will def stay here again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room without an adjoining door...also looked out the window and there was an office buildi...

For some reason, hotel prices in Washington, DC went through the roof about ten years ago. So while I generally try to stay loyal to particular brands (Hilton, Starwood, Marriott) in order to build up points, I throw it out the window when I go to DC. DC is the one place where I almost always head to Hotels.com in order to find a place. I've found a lot of very nice, small, affordable hotels and frankly they have a lot of personality. Depending upon where I need to be, I compare hotels in various neighborhoods and usually find one at half the price it may cost to stay at the Hyatt, Hilton or wherever I may have meetings/events scheduled. I found the Henley Park Hotel in this fashion. It was half the price of the Grand Hyatt. And it's a neat, clean, attractive, intimate little hotel with a very nice lounge. My room is small (a friend stayed here and paid $20 more and got a much larger suite), but nice. Two warnings - the pillows aren't fabulous. I have four large, firm, overstuffed pillows. I'd prefer two firm and two soft. And they do give out earplugs for those disturbed by street noise (the location of my room made them unnecessary, but my friend had lots of sirens and street noise that was apparently fairly loud. Overall good place and a great value (this week). Next week it may not be on hotels.com, so I'll find another nice property with vacancies and affordable rooms.

Room Tip: My room doesn't face the street (it faces another attached building) so it's a lot quieter i...

Our unique historic property is unlike the cookie cutter hotels of the large brands but has exemptional value for the market price, as you stated. Our location, the closest hotel to the Convention Center makes the Henley Park your best DC destination hotel in the neighborhood. Check out the rates on our web site next time at henleypark.com and I think that you will find the same good value or better as on Hotels.com.
We do offer smaller pillows upon request, so make sure that you let us know your preference upon your return. We will be happy to switch out those fluffy pillows.

Thank you for your business,

Maggie Edwards

Stayed here for a few nights over the Super Bowl weekend. The hotel is great value for the location it is in - not far from the Metro and Chinatown. The staff were friendly as well. My room appeared to be newly decorated, was comfortable, and well furnished with toiletries.

Had a few drinks in the bar but it was quite expensive - ask for beer prices before you order! Did not eat in so cannot comment on the food.

The noise is a bit of an issue as well, both from the huge construction site, opposite the hotel, and the air heating system in the room - ear plugs are provided which helped a great deal.

Room Tip: Rooms facing away from the construction site are generally quieter.

A bit off the way from Penn Quarter makes this seem far but in reality it's a 7 minute walk. My deluxe room had plenty of space, a comfy bed, but some construction commencing at five am which would wake me up (hotel does provide earplugs). Friendly staff eager to help and the bar is a good place for a stiff drink. Resto for breakfast works great; didn't try lunch and dinner.

Very friendly staff all about; there's no reason not to return.

I only had one night at the Henley Park, but I loved it so much I hardly left the room. I stayed in a great corner suite that looked out over the Samuel Gompers Memorial Park. The staff was extremely helpful. And I really enjoyed all of the nooks and crannies of the old yet well kept hotel.

The reviews are correct. We did not eat there. We came by Amtrak and did not have a car. We took the metro from union station to the convention center. Hotel was quiet, comfortable and clean. We will stay there again. We were there for our anniversary.
