... or I might as well have been. My room was just above the bar. Whereas other hotels have discovered sound-proof windows, the Dupont Circle Hotel has not. Thus I had the luck to stay up until the bar closed at 3am, because I could hear everything from the bar in my room. It actually sounded like the people sitting in the bar's outdoor area where right in my room.

If you must stay here, ensure you are not anywhere near the bar.

Room Tip: Do not stay anywhere near the bar.

Firstly, let me start by saying that the location of the hotel is the primary reason we chose The Dupont Circle Hotel. Situated directly on the circle, the hotel offers a location that is within walking distance to great restaurants and nightlife, and the DC Metro which gets you to just about anywhere in the city you want to explore in 6-10 minutes. At night, the sights and sounds of Dupont Circle are unique and beautiful, and The Dupont Circle Hotel doesn't disappoint with its views from all rooms on the circle and in their Level 9 Lounge and balcony.
Service: TOP NOTCH! Check in was a breeze, the room was wonderfully clean and fresh, the wait staff and hosts of Cafe Dupont were friendly and knowledgable, quick and professional. The place runs like a well oiled machine, and you are treated as if you're the most important person in the hotel.
Room: We stayed in a Grand Deluxe King Room on the 7th floor overlooking Dupont Circle. Sweeping views of the circle could be had from any seat in the large room. The bed was superbly comfortable, the decor glamorous and chic, the bathroom highly equipped with top knotch toiletries.
First Class Service: Turn down service was immaculate, slippers, robes, chocolate, all of great quality. We had access to the Level 9 Lounge and Balcony for their complimentary happy hour each night from 5-6, where we enjoyed the conversation, music, view, and delicious appetizers and adult beverages.
Food: The food at Cafe Dupont was tremendously delicious, both at breakfast and brunch. We did not eat dinner at the hotel. The menu is complex but easy to read and understand and I got exactly what I expected each time and then some. I highly encourage you eat breakfast at the hotel. (The Irish Oatmeal was particularly good).
People: Again, the people make the hotel even more so than the amazing decor, the lavish luxury of the rooms and the service, and the location - primed right in the heart of the DC scene. Dayonna, who checked us in, was delightful and a ray of sunshine. She brightened what had been a long morning and a terrible (but thankfully short) flight from Buffalo. Niamh, the front desk manager was professional, courteous, generous, and super efficient. Cole, the Guest Services Manager served us two of the three nights we were at the Level 9 happy hour, and she is the very definition of elegance, and truly made us feel like royalty.
All in all - if you're thinking of booking a hotel in DC, don't look any further. You can't do better than The Dupont Circle Hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on upper floors provide better views of the city, as DC is a pretty "squat" city to...

Reserved this purely on location and price but was extremely happy with our experience. Greeted at check in by Niamh and Siobhan who were wonderful. Niamh made sure we had all information we needed and chatted with us easily but professionally and with a wonderful smile, that made us feel welcome. Although the room was small, it was comfortable, clean and well appointed. Linens and towels were good. The bar was a hive of activity most of the time, and staff were attentive, friendly and efficient. We ate in the restaurant Du point Cafe which was very nice and reasonably priced. There are so many places to eat within walking distance and fun shops to explore. If there on the weekend the farmers market is great. One place worth mentioning is Krammers Book Store , a wonderful place, they also have a cafe and bar which seem to stay open all night at weekends! Best bookstore in town. Our one and only problem was the valet parking, although staff were friendly we had to wait quite a bit for our car, now there was a wedding there, so there may have been a mass exodus at that time ! I would definitely recommend this hotel and will certainly stay there again.

We arrived very tired from a flight from Dublin. All I can say the welcome and service we received throught our stay was brilliant. To Niamh, Siobhan on the Front Desk to Shane in the bar, nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: We had a lovely room overlooking the Circle.

I contacted Dupont Circle Hotel in early February to see if they had a place near the circle where I could propose to my girlfriend on Valentine’s day. The staff was unbelievably friendly and accommodating. By the time we had arrived at the hotel, I felt like I had known the staff for years and they were almost as excited as I was about it all! They arranged access to the penthouse balcony for us, which overlooked the circle where I first met my now fiancée and even helped record the special moment for us. I cannot thank them enough. My fiancée absolutely loved it and I know we’ll always look back fondly at just how perfect the whole experience was. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Dupont Circle. In addition to the incredible and caring staff, the location is unbeatable (located right on the circle and within walking distance of everything you want or need), the interior and atmosphere are chic and modern, and the amenities were top notch. Stay here if you can!

So, let me start this review out by saying that if I could give this hotel infinite stars I would. It was my son`s 18th birthday, so we booked the hotel, however, we booked online so only a standard room and a deluxe room were available at the time. We checked in around 8 pm after a birthday dinner. The hotel was impeccable, location was prime. We were the only guests waiting in line, while the Front Desk associate was helping another guest, someone else saw we were waiting and immediately came to assist us.A wonderful associate by the name of Siobhan helped us with check in. When we checked in, we asked to be upgraded to a suite, however, the hotel was booked and none was available. We were satisfied with our deluxe room, but then Siobhan checked again, and she was like O you are going to be very happy, that was an understatement, she upgraded us to a penthouse suite at no extra charge. My son was ecstatic and so were we!!!! Service from the doorman, to every hotel personnel was flawless. Siobhan went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations. The hotel was gorgeous, service was exemplary, and Siobhan, well, she took my breath away!!!! I am so incredibly grateful to her for her customer service excellence. This is such a milestone birthday and we will always remember what Siobhan did, my son was beyond happy!!!! Thank you so very much again to all at The Dupont Circle Hotel for making our stay so memorable. Here on out, this is the only hotel I`m booking in the DC area!!! Repeat, satisfied customers for LIFE!!!! Keep up the wonderful work!!!! Am considering booking the Penthouse Space for son`s upcoming graduation party!!!!With much gratitude, Ramola

Room Tip: The Penthouse level has their own lobby. Rooms are impeccably clean, stylish, large, beautiful and c...

Whenever I visit Washington DC i look at a lot of different hotels and sometimes choose others, but the Dupont is a great hotel, in a great location with lots of interesting restaurants nearby.
Then add the nearby access to the Metro and reasonable cab prices to places to see.
The prices seem to be reasonable on weekends, but can be pricy during week days.
