I do get the complaints about noise in the room but it didn't bother us. Dupont Circle is the best location and the hotel is really close to the metro station so it's easy to explore DC from here.

Staff was great during our stay and we had a really nice room with comfy beds and amazing pillows. Only problem we had was that the shower flooded our bathroom but a few towels solved the problem.
Wifi was reasonably fast and reliable and having free wifi in a four star hotel is a big pro. In the morning there is free coffee and tea in the lobby.

The hotel bar is very popular. Not your average depressing hotel bar but a hot spot.
I can't tell much about the value, got an amazing deal on Priceline for this hotel.

I've stayed here three times on government-related business, and it's hard to look a gift horse in the mouth, but next time I'll ask to be lodged elsewhere. You can't beat the location: it's across the street from DC's best bookstore (Kramerbooks), and dead-center for dining and nightlife. Trouble is, it's nearly impossible to get a good night's sleep owing to noise issues -- such as garbage trucks that begin their pickup at around 5 a.m., and that's to say nothing of the constant reconstruction jackhammering going on all over the immediate area. It does no good to ask staff to assist in finding a quiet room -- they put you wherever they want and tell you it's the quiet wing. Reception personnel are ostensibly friendly at check-in, but after that, it's pretty much sayonara; a package that had been pre-delievered to me never found its way to my room. There's a decent restaurant, but you'll go greyer than the president waiting for your check. This hotel can and should do a whole lot better.

Located right on the Circle, the Dupont is both charming and swanky. The rooms are quite large, with all the amenities. I'm not quite sure I understand other reviewers' complaints about the lack of bathroom discretion; yes, it is a glass door, but the facilities are semi-cut off from the sleeping area by a wall. Room service and housekeeping where up to scratch, though the latter didn't always top up the complimentary water in the room. The hotel is ideal for those wishing to explore the non-official DC but is still manageable for visiting the Capitol Hill area. It is next door to the restaurant and bar district and thus offers plenty of scope in the evening. The Dupont bar is somewhat of a landmark in its own right and fills up daily so there's always a nice buzz to accompany their excellent cocktails. Weather permitting, the terrace is the place to sit since the inside, though very nice, gets overserviced by the aircon. The restaurant is a bit overpriced, but then again there is a multitude of options in the close vicinity (or a bit further afield on Adams Morgan). The same applies to the laundry service, which is extortionately priced (even for DC). Much more of a problem is, however, the high price of the carparking, where the options are few and far between as parking spaces are at a premium in the area and if you do find one you might have to get up at the crack of dawn if you want to avoid a ticket.

Perhaps I shouldn't complain since I did get a good deal on Hotwire, but my number one impression is noise. On the fourth floor there is constant traffic noise in the room, and even from people talking on the street below. Ditto from people talking in the corridor.

The room was obviously recently remodeled and is beautiful, but impractical. No curtains--just shutters that won't allow for a truly dark room. The bathroom has no door, just a glass partition that allows bathroom sounds to be heard clearly, bangs loudly on its stop when it closes (more noise) and doesn't keep water in the shower. The wife says lighting is inadequate for the application of makeup.

I guess this is a risk with Hotwire, but this is no 4-star hotel in my estimation.

Room Tip: Maybe a room far from the actual Dupont Circle would be quieter? Better yet, go elsewhere.

I thoroughly enjoyed my two nights at the Dupont Circle Hotel. My room was spacious, the decor minimalist and sleek (Room and Board bedside tables, a chaise longue by the window, and very stylish bathroom with generous counter space, a huge marble shower, and big fluffy white towels). Excellent wi-fi connection and a high quality flat-screen TV. Swanky lobby and nicely maintained fitness center (there was a big bowl of fresh fruit there, and an attractive urn of cold water with slices of oranges and lemons; plenty of towels and an array of machines). Location was excellent, just a block from the Metro, and the neighborhood crammed with restaurants, bookstores, and boutiques of all sorts. Considering the overall quality of the facility, the rate I paid, while not dirt cheap, represented a very good value. I would definitely head for this place next time I visit the capital. The only tiny little quibble: my room was on the eighth floor facing the inner court (it's a v-shaped building at one of those acute-angled Washington intersections), and directly across was the roof-top physical plant (A/C or whatever it was), which was somewhat noisy though not quite enough to disturb the peace. Noise phobic guests might want to ask for a room on a lower floor, or facing the street.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the street side for a better view and less noise from the machinery on the roof.

We just returned from a long weekend getaway. This hotel was very nice, and we would definitely stay again. The staff was excellent. We had a unique situation and they bent over backwards to help us and at no charge.

Pro's - looks as thought it was recently renovated, contemporary vibe, easy Metro access, good location, EXCELLENT customer service.

Con's - a few minor things in the room needed to be repaired (a light bulb was out, etc.), we were told they would reserve a room on a high floor but we got a room on the second floor (not a huge deal but a little bit of a disappointment)

Overall, we had a great time at this hotel and we would return. Last bonus was that we got an incredible deal on this hotel on Hotwire.

Room Tip: The "courtyard view" is really a view of the A/C units. There is no courtyard. Call (not...
