We stayed in the beginning of April 2012 for the Cherry Blossom festival, having gotten this hotel for a steal on a bidding website and were very happily surprised. For us, the location cannot be beat being in Dupont Circle. We (two 30 year olds) walked as far downtown as the tidal basin/east potomac park (between 2-3 miles) during the day and thought it was a great option to walk so that we can stop and see the sights along the way. For those who would prefer the public transportation, I also spotted a couple of metro stations within eyesight of the hotel. Being in a Dupont Circle hotel was perfect as in the evening it was nice to be so close to the dining/bar options that within a 5-10 minute walk we had no less than a dozen dining/bar options. For us, we would rather spend time during the day to get to the sights, and within a short walk of the hotel for dinner/drinks in the evening. Throughout our walk down Embassy Row, to the White House, to Capitol Hill, to the Lincoln Memorial and Reflecting Pool, and the Tidal Basin, we discovered no similar area where the dining/bar options were as plentiful. Maybe we missed it, but we just didn't see it.

The hotel on the whole was very clean, as was our room. The room was of a similar size to any major metropolitan, maybe 400 s ft, it was sufficient. The bathroom was very clean and well stocked with standard amenities. We did not dine at the restaurant downstairs, but would have based on the constant business it was doing and the look and appeal of the menu, had we more time and more opportunities for meals. As I mentioned, with there being so many other options within reach, we usually opt for independent restaurants as opposed to hotel restaurants. We did use their overnight parking valet, which was fast and secure - no issues to report.

I guess if I were made to find a "negative", the only thing I could nitpick with was that on two occasions we had to wait a few minutes for the elevator. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.

Dear K,Connecticut,

While your stay was with us back in April, we are delighted that you remembered us and truly appreciate you taking the time to write a review of your visit. We hope that you enjoyed the cherry blossoms and all of the sights. We are in a great location with many dining options surrounding us, but hope that the next time you are in Washington that you will try our restaurant. I would like to apologize for the wait for the elevator as I am sure the hotel was very busy during the festival. We hope to welcome you back again soon, perhaps for the impending fall to see the monuments again as the view is stunning with the leaves changing their colors.

Sincerely,
Scott Dawson

The hotel is right on dupont circle and is a couple of minutes away from the dupont circle metro station. There are plenty of restaurants and little shops in the area. Going out on Friday evening was a stroll away. The room was a bit on the small side, but other than that it was perfect. I had a room on the 8th floor with a pretty nice view.
The Bar Dupont is very lively every evening and they have good cocktails.

Location is right on the circle... It's as convenient as you get. The room was really small and my friends and I were on top of each other all weekend. However, it wasn't too big of a deal since we just went to hang out at the bar downstairs, which was really nice. We got this deal through Expedia and it actually was the cheapest hotel in the area - worth the money!

Stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the buzzing bar, the free wi-fi and the location that allowed exploration. I like walking in a new city and managed to walk to the Mall on one day and to Georgetown on the next. In the more immediate surroundings there is a metro stop and a lot of nightlife. Nice modern room and helpful front desk staff.

I was absolutely thrilled when we walked into this hotel because from the moment we arrived I knew it would be a fabulous stay. The hotel is centrally located and very convenient access to transportation or walking distance to shops and restaurants. The decor was super modern and chic with a very charming historic accents. The staff was phenomenally helpful and welcoming from the initial check in to our checkout. The room was spectacular, definitely one of the best rooms I've ever stayed in. The beds are super comfy and bathroom very modern, open concept to a certain extent which I'm not normally accustomed to but it worked. The amenities were perfect for my stay and I had ZERO complaints. The room service was fast, friendly and the food was excellent for both breakfast at the cafe and room service menu options. I found a deal for this hotel for me and a friend on Travel Ticker and it was a steal considering how beautiful and nice the hotel was for this area. Would definitely love to return and stay here and plan to in the near future!

My wife and I spent our 45th wedding anniversary in the city where we started dating years ago. I wanted a nice hotel that wouldn't break our wallet, and the reviews on Trip Advisor were most helpful. The service was excellent, parking reasonable, and the hotel is within an easy stroll to a number of very nice restaurants for breakfast, dinner, and in between. Only minor complaint is that the bathroom john and shower lack a little privacy from the sink area. Didn't bother us, but can't say about teenagers and parents together. A Metro stop is a block or so away. Definitely consider staying here the next time you are in DC.

Room Tip: We got an inside room. Not much of a view but no street noise at all. The hotel is a short block f...

My wife and I spent this past weekend at the hotel for our anniversary. It really was an awesome experience from the time we checked in till, unfortunately the time we had to leave.

On the first day, the hotel accommodated our request to check-in early. We were warmly greeted by Cole Kelly, the Guest Relations Manager, who escorted us up to our Suite. Let me just say that Cole is probably the nicest and warmest Hotel manager that we've ever encountered. I was in communication w/ her leading up to the trip and she helped w/ every detail. We opted for a "Level Nine" suite, which she lead us to and explained all of the amenities that comes with it. If you can splurge a bit, I highly recommend getting a room on the 9th floor. You have your own lounge, nightly appetizers and cocktails, privacy, complimentary fruit and non-alcoholic drinks.

The rooms were amazing as well. Yes, they are small, but it's what I expected from a boutique hotel in the District. Our room had a balcony that overlooked Dupont Circle and it was relaxing to sit out there and watch the hustle and bustle below. We had a King Canopy bed, nice soaking tub and walk in shower all encased in marble. It was very luxurious.

The first evening, we had a very late dinner reservation. We decided to go to the 5pm appetizer and cocktail hour in the Level Nine lounge. The apps were awesome and the drinks were very good and strong :) We had a very nice chat w/ Cole who hosts the event.

The location of the hotel is great, very close to the Dupont City Metro, about 2 blocks. There are a ton of restaurants and little shops all around and on Sunday there is an amazing Farmers Market about a block away.

The only real negative I can say is that there is only one elevator to the 9th floor. If it's busy, you're going to be waiting a while for that elevator. It's really not a big deal, but just allow extra time if you're running a bit late for something.

All in all, this place was wonderful. The hotel itself is amazing, but having Cole there makes it all that more special. Thanks again for a great anniversary.

Room Tip: If you can splurge, Level Nine suites is definitely worth it. Just be prepared to wait a bit for th...
