“Convenience and Comfort at a Great Price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2009

We found this place as a result of checking reviews on tripadvisor.com. We had a clean, corner room that was quiet. The bed was so comfortable that I slept better there than at home. Parking was a bit pricey but it was worth it. The hotel has its own garage behind the building and it is not valet, which we liked since we don't want anyone else driving our car. Anyway, you won't need to move the car as the metro station is a short walk and its just easier to use the public transit in D.C. Right next to the Metro station, there's a great little place to get a quick breakfast, lunch or dinner - Epicurean and Company. Not overly cheap but not too expensive, it's great to get food to-go, too. We'd stay here again!

We stayed here for 5 nights while touring DC. Our room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Location was excellent, just one block from the Metro. Staff was nice and helpful. Very economical, will stay here again.

This hotel is not your typical Days Inn. It's WAY better. It was obviously a relatively nice older hotel that Days Inn took over and rennovated.

The rooms were not huge, but they were very nicely appointed with modern and elegant decor. The room was beautiful and clean. I got the business king room. The bed was very good with 6 smaller pillows (more than enough). I didn't really like the "blanket" that was on the bed, but it was OK. The bed was comfortable, though. They had a modern flat screen LCD TV on the wall. The desk area and sitting area were nice. I also had a refrigerator and microwave. There was also a bathrobe in the closet to wear during the stay! The bathroom was very small, but functional and nice -- marble-type walls. The shower was great, had good pressure, etc. It was also very quiet. I didn't hear much outside the room, with the exception of the dumpster being emptied daily. The air conditioning worked great, too.

The hotel is very convenient. It is a couple of blocks to the metro red-line (Van-Ness). This was great. It was easy to get around D.C. using the metro. The neighborhood that the hotel is in is fairly nice. It's not too far to embassies and the Univ. of D.C. is just down the street by the metro. There are several restaurants in the area, a CVS, and a GIANT grocery store. There is even a Burger King next door. There is a restaurant next door, Tesoro, associated with the hotel. They give 10% discounts to Days Inn customers. I didn't eat there, but it looked to be a good nicer Italian restaurant.

I also loved the three computers they had in the lobby for checking email, etc. That was very convenient and helpful for me.

The service was great. The people at the desk were friendly and accomodating. It was like $50 cheaper than most of the other places I was looking at staying. Surprisingly, the rooms are probably just as nice at the Days Inn for $50 less. This is definitely a quality hotel. It is not a "budget" motel that is more-or-less a dump! It is actually quite nice and will save you a lot of money! I will most definitely stay at this motel again.

I stayed here in July for 3 nights for a leisure trip with my partner. we found the hotel very good as it was clean, air conditioned well and close to transport. only ten minutes into the centre of DC. Try the pizza joint across the road, it was great. perfect for a place to sleep between seeing the sights of DC.

My nine year old son, our neighbor and her seven year old daughter, and I traveled to DC for a summer birthday trip for the kids. We stayed one night in this hotel (originally planning two, but the kids were done by the first day). It is conveniently located to the metro and several stores and restaurants. They also allowed us to leave our bags even though our rooms were not ready. The lobby is cramped and the gift shop is a not much bigger than a closet. To get to the rooms, the elevator requires you to use your room key... a good thing to know before you get on! The elevator is quite small and dated... The room itself was very small, but adequate for our needs. Although the bed linens were clean and freshly made, the actual linens were lumpy. The dresser had a couple of suspect stains (like someone had spilled a liquid, but it hadn't been properly wiped up during housekeeping) but wasn't filthy. We needed extra towels, called the front desk, reached the rather nervous and distracted deskman and was assured he would send some up. Two hours later, we got them at the front desk...when we went down to get them... None ever arrived at our room. This room was by no means the worst that I have stayed in and it did serve it's purpose. I know people who are considering staying somewhere want to know as much as possible before spending their money. The bathroom is very small and crowded, but the facilities worked. The shower head could have used a good cleaning though. Overall, we were satisfied enough to stay one night in the room and did not complain to management. I wouldn't choose it as a destination for its amenities, but because it was in our price range and suited our needs for the trip it was worth the money. I would recommend it to frugal travelers.

Stayed here for two nights at the beginning of July in an executive king suite. $210 was excellent value. Location only four stops on the Metro from the Washington Monument - recommend you pay the $20 parking fee at the hotel and use the Metro for getting around - tried to check in early (noon) and room was ready. Had previously emailed and asked for a quiet room on high floor - given a rear facing room on 5th floor which fit the bill perfectly. Room large and well serviced for leisure or business - free wi-fi very fast. Bedding and towels good quality. Good location with restaurants and shops close by. Good Italian restaurant attached to the hotel. All in all a very impressive Days Inn and would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone visiting the area.

We stayed five nights. It is very convenient to the metro, to universities, and to good restaurants. There is a great gourmet coffee machine free to use in the lobby. Rooms and linens were spotless. Windows look out on courtyards, not on the street, which made for a very quiet night with no traffic noise. I will use this hotel every time I go to DC from now on. Shop for half price fares online, too, it is easy to find discounts. We paid the same price as our friends paid at a sub-par Motel 6! Only negative is that parking is in tiny spots in a cramped, difficult garage, and it is expensive at $20. a day.
