Days Inn Washington DC / Connecticut Avenue
Ranked #122 of 141 Hotels in Washington DC
Reviewed November 23, 2012

CONS:
*My biggest complaint is that there were charges we weren't expecting. The rate went up on our third night there even though we had been quoted the same rate for all 3 nights we stayed. There was also a $20 charge to park PER DAY. We were told that as we were checking in. They didn't tell us there would be tax on top of the fee. We spent $75 to park for 3 days!!!
*The room was very small.
*The walls were VERY thin. I could hear the people in the room next to us talking/laughing and
even in the bathroom.
*They advertise nice views of DC at night. Our window faced the parking garage.
*The desk clerks aren't very friendly.
*Not many channels on the TV, no premium channels.
CONS:
*The room was clean.
*The maids were very nice.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review and let us know about your stay with us. I am very sorry to hear that your stay was anything less than pleasant. Our hotel takes pride in being one of the best values in the city of Washington, which is why we work hard to keep our prices reasonable, so much so as even with parking charges included, we are one of the most affordable and definitely high value hotels in DC. We totally understand that a lot of places that aren't major cities don't charge for parking. But in a city such as DC, or New York, or San Francisco, parking is very limited and almost all hotels charge for this service. We try our hardest to be upfront on our websites as we can be about this charge, because we understand that we have guests who may not stay in larger cities frequently, who aren't used to paying that cost. Again, we truly apologize for any confusion that this may have cost you.

Don't usually stay at limited service brands but due to cost and short stay this property was actually a great value. The furnishings in the hotel were average. Had a hard time getting the right temperature with the PTAC. Coffee offered downstairs. Located conviently to most of Washington D.C. This would not be my first choice when I am back in Washington D.C. but I would stay there again.

Thank you for your review of our hotel. We are certainly glad you chose to stay with us. Although we are a limited service hotel, we try to offer a lot of the conveniences of larger properties, such as excellent bedding packages, 37 inch HDTVs with over 70 HD channels, and complimentary coffee in the lobby. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay, and will hope that you consider us again.

WE have stayed at this Days Inn several times when coming to DC for business or pleasure. It's not fancy or new, but clean and great value. The staff has always been very pleasant and helpful. It's convenient to some restaurant and conveniences, and the Van Ness metro stop.

This hotel was nothing special, but it was conveniently located, which was most important for this trip. The only thing I really disliked was the shower, which had practically useless low flow. I'm all for saving water, but when the flow is so weak it takes twice as long to wash the shampoo out of my hair it pretty well defeats the point.

Thanks for letting us know about your experience with our hotel. I sincerely apologize for the issues you had with taking a shower. Our showers actually aren't low flow, we were experiencing a problem with water pressure in this area recently, but the city has since rectified the problem. I am so sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We hope that you will choose our hotel again.

Thank you,
