Although we stayed for one night, everything was great, the rooms, the hygiene... the staff was very helpful and polite, overall it was well worth the money.

nice, clean hotel, good value. its out of the main DC area, but very close to a metro so transport to and from was easy and cheap. checking in and out was problem free. room basic but a good size. few places to eat locally (cleveland park) and supermarket close. had nice meal at attached italian resturant, not too expensive. staff friendly. would recommend for someone who wants a cheaper out of town DC option.

I was travelling for business and this hotel fit the bill for location, convenience and price. It's really close to a Metro stop and was in a safe neighborhood. The staff was polite and one of the gentlemen helped me hail a cab. All the talk of the pillows in other reviews is funny; all they do is fold them in the pillowcase so they look smaller but they really are standard size. This is an average hotel at an above-average price and I'd stay here again.

I stayed there the last 2 years for a conference in DC. It's a decent, no-frills hotel at a fraction of the price of big DC hotels. It's out of the downtown area, but only 2 blocks from a Metro station. There are stores and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is clean, quiet, and the front desk staff is friendly & helpful. I would reccomend this Days Inn if you want to stay in DC and don't want to pay the high prices of downtown hotels and don't mind a short Metro ride.

Room Tip: Reserve early because it often books up.

I booked this hotel after many hours of research on possible hotels, however this one had such good reviews on numerous sites that I decided to go with it. We arrived late (12:00am) looking forward to getting our two young children settled in for the night, much to our surprise we would not be staying there. We were informed, only once we arrived, that there was no room for us at their hotel and we would have to go to their sister hotel 20 minutes away. The other hotel took 45 minutes to get to and was not as appealling as the first especially since we had two small children. |The second Days Inn was priced lower and we were still charged for the first one. There was even a guy walking around following our truck in the parking lot.

I was extremely disappointed by this service, a call from the hotel ahead of time would have been appreciated. We were not offered anything for our inconvience not even an apology. If you decide to book this hotel be sure to call them the day you are arriving to ensure you have the room you paid for.

Room Tip: Book at another hotel

This is the only place that seems to charge less than $200/night on most nights - a major plus in seriously-overpriced DC. If you manage your expectations & remember this is a Days Inn, not the Four Seasons, you'll be fine. The location is very good: a quick 5-10 min walk to the Van Ness metro station, which zips you into the heart of DC in just 15-20 minutes. (And contrary to a previous reviewer, Van Ness is a relatively safe DC neighborhood - I should know, I used to live there & I'm picky about such things). There's a grocery store (Giant) and CVS pharmacy about 1 block away, and a few average restaurants (Potbelly, Subway, Epicurean, a pizza place across the street).

Other pros: The rooms are decently-sized, lots of linen, free WiFi in every room (major plus if I'm working), good blackout curtains. I've also stayed here multiple times in the past year, and don't recall ever seeing one of those paper-thin, between-room-doors that allow you to hear your neighbor's every snore and sigh.

Some cons: The front desk tries to be helpful, but most of the time the staff seem a bit stressed and clueless. They also once had an issue with the card key machine and it took more than 10 minutes to page someone to let me into my room (when the guy finally showed up, he just joked in Spanish with the rest of the staff and didn't even apologize) - not that pleasant at 10pm after a long day of work/traveling. But these are minor cons in the large scheme of things - I still prefer staying here to most other DC hotels because of the good value and location.

Thank you for your review. It is always good to hear our guests have positive reviews. We also cherish the opportunities to get better. We strive to ensure our staff is as well-prepared and well-informed as they possibly can be. WE try to achieve this through various and routine training sessions, as well as management interactions with the staff. I apologize for any inconvenience you may have faced while staying at our hotel, and promise you our hotel is working hard not to only be an affordable hotel, but one of tremendous value to our guests.

Sincerely,
Leon Chittams
