Stayed at this hotel at the recommendation of a friend - and glad he did! Friendly staff, great Foggy Bottom location, nearby restaurant choices, and metro access only 2 blocks away. Took the metro from the airport and was at hotel in about 15 minutes. As a bonus, we discovered that there is a free shuttle that does a two-stop loop across the circle near the hospital and goes to the Kennedy Center. Very convenient way to see the shows! Our room was on the sixth floor and had a balcony which was a very nice touch. They also have a small unheated pool which is a boon on a hot, humid day. And with AAA discount, was a good deal for Fri and Sat.

I was originally going to stay in VA, but when I found out that the cost of a one-way Metro train ticket was $3.95 per person each way, I quickly changed my mind and chose to stay in the capital in order to be within walking distance to all of the DC sites.

Arjun, in Reservations, was the most courteous and accommodating. I had tons of questions and he was always quick to help get them answered. And, the ladies at the reception desk were the sweetest and most courteous ever.

The room (1 King bedroom suite) had a large balcony, a full kitchen (equipped with dishes and kitchen tools, 4-burner stove with oven, and a dishwasher), and one and one-half bathrooms - so convenient for four people. When you're on vacation, you don't want to have to do dishes even though there was a dishwasher. So, to make it even more accommodating, housekeeping would handle it.

To add to the convenience, there was a rain storm one night, so we didn't want to venture out. Hence, we dined at the on-site restaurant on the lower level. I see why it was rated as one of the top 100 in the DC metro area...the food was superb.

This hotel also has a pool (not many in DC do) as well as beautiful views of Foggy Bottom - from the balcony - and, valet parking (we drove).

I can't say enough about this trip and my stay at the One Washington Circle Hotel for the 4th of July weekend, other than...

"I'll Be Back!"

This hotel is part of a smaller chain but you hardly would know it by the friendliness of the staff. Everyone from the front desk to the valet to the restaurant was pleasant and seems genuinely pleased to see you. We stayed in a one bedroom suite which was more than adequate and quite roomy. Comfortable bed, small kitchen with a gas stove, full size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and utensils. With Whole Foods a few blocks away, you could easily make your own meals.

Restaurant is small but with excellent fare. They are 10 minutes to the main part of the GWU campus and even closer to the medical center. There is a GWU parents program with a nice discount and the hotel is in a very nice neighborhood with a metro stop close by and excellent restaurants.

The rate was significantly better than close by Marriott or other large chain properties, even on a University orientation weekend. Excellent value !

Room Tip: We faced the back of the hotel which was fine. It is Washington DC near many commercial properties...

We decided to spend our honeymoon in Washington DC, and based on the very positive reviews we read, chose One Washington Circle. We arrived tired and jet-lagged, and they got us into our room hours before the official 3pm check-in time. Knowing that it was our honeymoon, they surprised us with chilled champagne and chocolate chip cookies in our room. The hotel is ideally located in the Foggy Bottom district, surrounded by great restaurants and very easy access to the Metro and bus systems. Jaqueline and Naara, along with all the employees we met, were courteous and helpful. If we ever get another opportunity to see Washington DC, we'll definitely stay at One Washington Circle again.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of June. On arrival we entered our room to find and entire suite!! Two bathrooms, a kitchen, a dining area, a seating/tv area, a bedroom and wardrobe along with a large balcony overlooking Washington Circle.
Value for money was fantastic (although our rate did not include breakfast; it was $5 for a bowl of cereal which is all we needed).
The staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful.
There is a small outdoor swimming pool which would be fine although during our stay it was often occupied by families which limited any 'real' swimming (we only tried swimming once so this was not huge deal for us).
Location is ideal for the Big Bus and City Sightseeing bus tours which both stop right outside the hotel. We were approx. a 15-20minute walk to the White House and 5 minute walk to Foggybottom tube (we got the tube straight from the airport to here so it was ideal). We also walked to Georgetown in around 15 minutes; this is a lovely area, great for shopping, bars and food.

Room Tip: Open top tour bus can be infrequent due to heavy traffic in Washington but is definitely worth doing...
