We missed the entrance the first time we drove past, but this hotel was worth circling the block for. Thanks to our AAA discount we scored a room upgrade to one with a full kitchen, and half-price valet parking. The hotel has a doorman and luxurious lobby. There are free apples available in the lobby and iced water gently flavored with real fruit pieces. There is also an on site bistro. The room wasn't quite as perfect as the lobby, with a few stains and peeling paint around the doorframe, but it was still very nice. I liked the guest book and magazine in the room discussing the various attractions. Our room had a balcony with a nice view over Washington Circle. The staff were great, and while there was a tiny glitch with the bill it was an honest error and quickly rectified for us. The hotel is handy to both a Roti and a Potbelly Sandwich Works - great places for tasty and affordable food. Our family walked from the hotel to the Lincoln Memorial and museums. The kids needed carrying at the end of the day, but it was really pleasant walking. We really liked the location and atmosphere of this hotel. We stayed 2 nights in January and will stay again next time we're in DC.

We stayed here on a Tuesday and had an amazing room looking at Washington Circle with a massive balcony. Our party had very large dogs and they were welcomed and upon heck in we were told if the hotel had dog beds they would send them to our room (they didn't but the offer was something I had never experienced before). The kitchen area was nice (walking distance to Whole Foods) and had everything you would need. Parking on site was easy and standard of $40 a day. We booked a king with a queen. We're a little surprised that the queen was a pull out (and very comfortable) but it was separate from the bedroom; the room also offered 1 1/2 baths. While it seems like the hotel decor is dated (only slightly) the staff was top notch. Walking distance to the White House (not sure other sites). The only negative (not the hotels fault and why I did not deduct points) is that being on Washington Circle from 4:45 to 7:30 the honking from traffic below is extremely loud. We were on the second floor so maybe that was it. But who is in a room that time of day so don't hold it against them. Planning another visit in a few months and I plan on staying here again. Stayed at a few places in DC before and this is my favorite. Staff, 2 bath, kitchen and location all make this family friendly. The only negative is the glass top on the coffee table is not attached and almost hit the floor. With kids that could be a danger but I am sure it could be removed.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 215

the location in the Foggy Bottom section of the city is pretty good. It was definitely a plus that the Metro Station was right across the street. The staff was very nice and accommodating when we checked in 5 hours early. With that said, this hotel might be one of the most out-dated hotels i have ever stayed in. The room was disgusting, and that's putting it lightly. We got this hotel via hotwire so we couldnt change hotels, but if i booked this through the hotel itself, i would have asked for my money back and moved to another hotel.

Room Tip: Dont say here.

I've recently had two longish stays at the Washington Circle. It has had somewhat of a face lift downstairs, but the rooms were still a little dated. Still, I loved having a walk-in closet, kitchenette, balcony and space. The staff were amazingly kind to me. The rooms are really cleaned well. I have stayed at other, fancier places nearby in DC, but have grown to love this one the most. It is not the height of luxury, but not shabby either. It is definitely dependably good and comfortable.

This hotel offers large rooms with kitchens in downtown DC. The location is quite good. While there is not a lot right around the hotel, it is located centrally between the Lincoln Memorial, Georgetown and Dupont Circle, the latter two which have shopping and many good restaurants. Foggy Bottom metro is fairly close on the opposite side of Washington Circle. The area is noisy, due to the hospital across the Circle and frequent emergency sirens.

The service is good, much like an upscale hotel, though this does mean tipping. Valet parking is convenient, but expensive. There was a fire alarm during our stay and the staff could have done a better job communicating with guests. A free drink or hors d'oeuvre may be offered in the lobby in the evening.

The rooms are large, though most of the space is in the closets, hallways and kitchen, so the main part of the room is not huge. The room is not fancy, and the furnishings are fairly cheap, with some of the knobs and so forth starting to break. The room was clean. Including a coffee grinder and whole beans is a nice touch. There are balconies in at least some rooms.

The hotel restaurant is upscale, but is available for coffee or a drink as well. For simpler fair, Burger Shake and Tap across the circle is a good option.

Dear travellevret ,
Thank you for your review of your recent stay with us! We're glad you were able to enjoy most aspects of our hotel and our location---you are right, city noises and sirens do factor in to the hotel's experience. However, our rooms, amenities and fantastic staff hopefully make up for the street noise we cannot control! And we're very pleased to hear you pointed that out as well!
Thank you for sharing the tip about Burger, Taps and Shake across the circle---it is certainly a favorite of our staff as well!
The next time your travels bring you to DC, we certainly hope to welcome you back to One Washington Circe Hotel!
Best,

I stayed at One Washington Circle for more than a month during the 2013 holiday season, while in Washington, DC, working on an extended project. The suites are large with 1.5 baths, full kitchen, eating area and separate bedroom and living room quarters. I had a balcony overlooking Washington Circle (with a great view) and was in walking distance of GWU, the Foggy Bottom subway, Georgetown, and K, L and M streets. Pharmacies, a Whole Foods market, and tons of restaurants are a few feet away. The area is safe and the hotel is clean, comfortable and accommodating. The front desk and valet staff are excellent and focus on customer service. The cleaning staff caters to your privacy and hours when you need/want your room serviced. As a guest, you can get room service, store and cook your own food in your kitchen (with dishwasher), or order delivery service for various kinds cuisine. The price is very reasonable as well. I plan to stay there again. It's a great deal that delivers quality and comfort from a convenient location. I suggest you check it out--especially if you are in town for an extended stay!
