“not fancy but comfortable”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2013

We stayed in a suite with a king bed and a roll-away bed. It was small but very functional with a TV for the bedroom and another where the roll-away was located. AC unit quiet and works very well (located between bedroom and sitting room) A frig was located conveniently. The room was very clean and no mildew in the bathroom. Not the most modern furnishings but the bed was very comfortable. Great front desk staff and housekeeping. Free Wi-fi and parking passes for a nearby garage. TV reception was very snowy but could still watch movies on TCM. Local weather and channels were also available. Three blocks to subway and two to DC Circulator bus. Regular DC bus on same block as hotel. Hotel was very quiet so I was surprised to see so many children at breakfast (free continental breakfast). Try Meiwah Chinese restaurant one block away and Potbelly Sandwich shop next door. Forget using your car to get around and use the subway instead of ground travel whenever possible because of the heavy traffic that is present 7 days a week. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Don't be afraid of the room behind the elevator or streetside since ours was very quiet.

I stayed here for four nights and did not regret the choice. It is centrally located, easy to find, just a few minutes' walk from the Foggy Bottom Metro station (to go to the Mall or to Arlington) and across the street form the Circular bus (to go to Georgetown), also just a block away from DuPont Circle. There are lots of hotels and several restaurants in the area, of which I can recommend the West End Bistro at the Ritz-Carlton. I had a nice and quiet room with a small kitchenette (refrigerator, sink, microwave oven and coffee machine) and a dining table, so it was almost like having a studio. Great choice of groceries at the Whole Food Mart by the Metro station. The hotel is small enough so you get to know the people who work there. Helpful staff at the front desk. There is a coin operated guest laundry in the basement and a nice breakfast room where you could even have some fresh fruit in the morning. My only objection to this hotel is the name: It is not in Georgetown - that's on the other side of Rock Creek. That aside: Very happy to recommend this hotel!

Best Western is small, but very nice hotel to stay in. I have stayed here with my friends one night. It's very comfortable and clean. Staff is polite and helpful. It's definitely good value for money.

My wife and I and wheelchair-user son spent 5 nights here. Very ample space, excellent free breakfast, very courteous staff, superb bed and modern grab-bar bathroom. Four blocks from Metro and quiet even though our room faced the street. Facilities are not ultra-modern but everything worked well. Will definitely return.

Good, comfortable and clean hotel. Twin room is 2 x double beds, bathroom and kitchenette. Free wi-fi although it is slow when the hotel is full. Breakfast was served in the breakfast room downstairs. It was good but nothing startling. Good choice of cereals, toast, pancakes and eggs. Hotel is good location for White House etc but it is a good 15 block walk so you have to be up for a good walk everyday. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: We were on the ground floor which was noisy due to the staff banging doors late at night so ask for...

I stayed at the Best Western in Georgetown February 27 - March 1 for business and am having a real difficulty writing this review because nothing really stands out about my experience. If I closed the windows in the room, I could just as easily have been staying in a Best Western on the side of the highway, even though I was in a hotel mere blocks from the White House.

There was nothing special about the room, which while billed as a suite, was very poorly designed. I've stayed in much nicer Best Westerns for half the cost of this stay. The price of this Best Western was much too similar to hotels in the area that offer a higher level of quality in the rooms and amenities. Given the opportunity to return, unless this Best Western cuts its rates significantly (I paid $239 a night), I won't stay in this hotel again.

So...it's good enough if you have nowhere else to go, but it certainly didn't live up to expectations of an all-suite hotel in Georgetown, Washington, D.C.
