“Excellent food”

Perhaps the only real gem of a restaurant near Verizon Center. Haidar Karoum makes exceptional food and Adam Bernbach is one of the most creative cocktail experts in town and a wonderful sommelier as well.

“Should be rated more than $$!”

Actually sat down and drank the water, looked at the menu, and left. I was not willing to pay $20 for 8oz glass of wine. It does have nice outdoor seating and a very creative menu.

“Visiting DC, Do NOT miss this place !!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2013 via mobile

It came with high recommendation, food, wine and atmosphere and it lived up to every expectation...

What a wonderful restaurant this is.. Charming knowledgable servers, sommelier and management...

The 4 of us choose 8 different courses before dessert and each one was delicious.

The tuna tartare is to die for, the semi spicy meat balls are so good, we ordered another course, the halibut was "Colgate" white and beautifully cooked over fennel, and the crispy chicken breast, well enough said...

But wait, do not leave without tasting the sticky toffee pudding ...

Delightful decor, subdued but adequate lighting and very comfortable seating made this the high spot for our 3 night visit.

Oh, and I missed telling you that their wine list is a perfect gem... And not at all pricey given the abundant quality of choice...

My husband and I ate here last evening with my sister and brother-in-law. We had a 7:00 pm reservation and were seated right away. The hostess was very friendly, but the rest of the staff that we encountered was somewhat rude. Nothing on the menu was explained, and we felt very rushed to place our orders. Our appetizers were brought out in less than five minutes, and we felt that they were made ahead. I had the tuna tartare appetizer, and it was quite tasty. Our entrees were brought out at the same time that our appetizers were cleared. We were in and out in 40 minutes, which I did not like. Not once did the staff ask us how our meals were, nor did they say anything about them when they were delivered to our table. I was really looking forward to a nice, relaxing dinner, and we all felt very rushed. The food was good, but portions very small and you have to order sides if you want anything with your entree. My sister had scallops, and that's all that was on the plate....4 scallops. My brother-in-law did say that his pork chop was well prepared, and I had the roast chicken which was just ok. The dessert menu looked good, but we ended up going somewhere else for dessert as the waitstaff really made us uncomfortable about lingering any longer. For the price, I would not go back.

We had Valentine's Day dinner here and liked the upscale trendiness, the food and the service. Make sure to get a reservation!
