I was at the hotel at the end of October/2011, and I enjoyed an excellent stay at Adam's Inn: excellent room, excellent service, very helpful staff, good internet service (wireless), excellent breakfast, well located (near the subway) in a very pleasant neighborhood. I really enjoyed my stay at the Adam's Inn, and I recommend staying at the hotel to anyone wishing to spend a few days in DC.

These are three charming townhomes within walking distance of the restaurants and shops of Adams Morgan. The furnishings were ok, nothing special. Our beds squeaked horribly and had no headboards. The communal bathroom was surprisingly small. I had never stayed anywhere that did not offer guests toiletries and a hair dryer. That would have been fine if I'd known.

On Saturday night we heard every guest who walked past our room late into the night. The staff is hit or miss - either friendly and accomodating or unfriendly and unprofessional. And the continental breakfast was minimal at best. Not even fresh fruit.

I was in DC for a week of meetings, and chose to stay at Adams Inn as an alternative to a big city hotel. I much preferred the informal and home-like atmosphere. The room was spacious and characterful. Staff were helpful. Breakfast only starts at 7.30 which was a little too late for me, given I needed to be in town for some meetings starting at 8.30.

Great value. Two attached houses plus a third, separated by a walkway to an interior garden. Community kitchen, dining room to be used by guests, and sitting room in my building. My room #25 small but very clean with comfortable bed. Strong secure WiFi; no TV in room. Good continental breakfast. Quiet residential street in trendy area with 10 minute walk to Metro. Buses, cabs one block away.

I have not actually stayed at the Adams Inn myself, but I book many out of town guests in DC because of my work. They all love the Adams Inn. It is in a great location. The people are accommodating. The price is very reasonable and the place is comfortable. (I have been to the common areas and they are lovely.) I always get rave reviews from our visitors. It is my first suggestion to everyone.

Having to stay for a longer period, I prefer bed and breakfast over a stark hotel. You get to enjoy breakfast with guests from all around the world. The pace and atmosphere are relaxed. The rooms are basic but clean. The food is probably the only negative with more items that seem as if they come from Costco than a nice local market or bakery. Easy 10-15 minute walk to two metros--the green line and the red line. Very close to lots of nice restaurants over by Woodley Park. The staff let us use metro passes so we just put funds on them and returned them at the end of our stay. Much better than dealing with paper tickets. Certainly consider going back if/when we go back to DC.

Room Tip: We had the first\ floor back bedroom in the second building. Even though it's located next to th...
