Description: Oyamel combines Mexico's rich regional diversity with the modern urban atmosphere of Mexico City. The liveliness of the dining room is matched by the creativity of the menu and cocktail list, featuring antojitos-Mexican small plates-ceviches and tacos, plus unique margaritas, and an impressive array of wines and tequilas. Originally opened in 2004 in the Crystal City neighborhood of Arlington, Oyamel moved to its current home in the Penn Quarter in March of 2007.

I have tried a lot of exotic foods in a lot of exotic places both foreign and domestic and don't need to try the Grasshopper tacos again. The drinks were good, the food average ,the service average and the hostess abrasive. Try their sister restaurant across the street for great drinks, food (Tapas) and service.

This is a very modern and trendy Mexican restaurant. My husband and I went there yesterday for the new year trip. They offer very fresh guacamole, but the price is way too much! We were recommended to order three plates for each person and we could share. The taco is small but nice, other dishes are small and the taste is just-so-so.I don't think I will go back again!

Long reviews are boring. I'm gonna keep it short. Very metro and snazzy place! Super location, super ambience. You will have to reserve first. Its a hot place. Customer service is excellent. Bar selection is awesome. Mexican cuisine is good. The guacamole is orgasmic, the tacos are delcious. It is a little steep on price but worth it for the passionate traveler with good taste buds and an eye for ambience! Cheersio!

Trendy, loud and extremely overpriced. Don't come here to get satisfied because you will pay a fortune for small plates and you will leave hungry and angry. The food is not bad but not that great to justify the prices. For example, If you order a ceviche for $12 dollars, you will receive a little tiny plate with enough food to feed a bird. You could find better mexican places to eat really good food for less money.

The menu for lunch is great and incredible affordable, I tried everything that they have for 12 days, and it was a good experience, dinner can be expensive and portions are tiny for dinner; if you hungry, this is not the place to go, if you go for drink and a light dinner, go for it, BTW the guacamole is the restaurant signature.
